The good was that I able to return the food I bought, that my cat didn't like, and get the money back on my credit card and not an exchange.
The bad was the prices. I have been buying Tiki Cat wet food for my cat for several years now. I normally shop in Boulder, but was on my way home from being in Loveland and decided to stop and get cat food. I normally spend for 30 day/60 cans of 2.8oz of cat food about 90dollars. I bought under 2 weeks of food here and it cost 50 dollars. I decided to look at actual prices of the cans here, and most were at least a dollar more expensive than what I am use to. Most of the 2.8oz Tiki wet cat food at Whole Pets or Only Natural Pets costs between 1.50 and 1.80 per can, so a price increase of a dollar is major. When I asked about this, the person at the cash register told me that the reason some of the cans were more expensive was because of the protein used. How does this apply just to your store and no where else? I ended up buying the Tiki Wet Food Mousse, which is what I had to return, because it was one of the cheapest options. My cat wouldn't touch it and back to the store it went. When I went back to Whole Pets, the prices of the cans were the same as they always have been, between 1.50-1.80 per can. I have to ask why are those stores able to keep the price reasonable and this store charges so much for the same product?
With these high prices I doubt that I will ever go back or recommend this...
Read moreI have visited this Chuck and Don's location three times and each time has been a wonderful experience. The staff is above and beyond friendly…not pushy… but just genuinely nice people. They provided knowledgeable advice and gave my little dog lots of attention while I was shopping. They have a great selection of unique and healthy options for food and toys. I also really appreciate the fact that they do not sell live pets in this store. I do not like to support large chain stores that sell animals from commercial breeders. The prices were comparable to any pet store in the area. Some things were a little higher and some were a little less. The collar I purchased was actually $6.00 less expensive than the PetSmart price and the cat food I purchased was about $0.20 more per can than PetSmart. I will do all of my pet shopping here from now on, so that I can avoid looking at those sad little lizards and...
Read moreEvery time I walk into Chuck & Don’s in Longmont, it feels like a little celebration for my fur baby. The staff are not only incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, but they’re also genuinely kind and welcoming — you can tell they love what they do and care deeply about animals and their humans.
The product selection is fantastic — from high-quality foods and treats to fun toys and essentials I didn’t even know I needed. It’s one of the few places I can trust to carry brands I feel good about giving my pet.
What really sets this store apart, though, is the atmosphere. You’re not just a customer here — you feel like part of a community. Every visit is a joy, and I always leave with a smile (and a happy tail wagging beside me). Thank you, Chuck & Don’s, for making shopping for my fur baby such a wonderful experience every...
