It's a bummer the front desk woman has been so inhospitable for me and my partner. Since moving here we were excited to use this gym for our morning workouts. I used to be a member and was excited to get back. The person that signed us up told us I would be able to come as a guest with him since we always come together. This has always been how it worked, unfortunately there has been this one older woman who always makes such an ordeal when I come in. Weâve been questioned, harassed, had our membership agreements changed while we are checking in. I get anxiety over what the next problem will be every time I see her.
The general feeling I get is that she looks at us as trying to âget away with somethingâ when I use our guest pass.
A few weeks back we rallied for an early morning workout before work. At 6 am there she was ready to engage us on new rules and issues we would need to be aware of. She informed us that I would not be allowed access due to the time. Prior to this moment, we did not have an issue, but now she was informing us before a certain hour the guest pass was inadmissible.
It was just after 6 am. I was dumbfounded that yet again there was a new rule blocking my use of our guest pass.
Apparently she felt even more inclined to flag his account from this encounter. For some reason now when he checks in he has the added benefit of being questioned due to whatever note she added to his account.
We are parents so understand maybe this is an issue with young people sharing memberships, however we are a couple using the format suggested to us by the representatives that signed us up.
I wish this woman would get a little training on hospitality. We enjoy our morning workouts and if she was kind and offering solutions that might work for her we would totally oblige. Unfortunately, itâs more like bullying.
We have gym memberships at other gyms to use when we are not in Longmont. We have never had any gym experiences this difficult for us to exercise. I will no longer work out with him due to this and he will be leaving as soon as the new space...
Read moreI started coming to Gold's the very first day it opened at Village at the Peaks. 6 days a week- for the past 3 years. I have loved every single minute I have spent in this gym up until today. I am a loyal member, a "veteran" if you will. And today for the first time ever, I was told I am no longer able to wear "just a sports bra to workout in." It is apparently a "new policy" they have decide to recently enforce. Well, let me start by saying this. BEFORE I ever started wearing "just a sports bra" to the gym, I asked the front desk employee at the time (Dawn was her name) if it was allowed, to which I got the reply, "yes, that's fine." So now I have spent tons of money on gym clothes that I am no longer able to wear. The only thing in my contract about dress code is "proper gym attire" so what is a sports bra, if not proper gym attire? It is not okay, for Gold's Gym, or any business to update Rules or policies- but not have new contracts or agreements presented to it's members to sign. I am a grown woman, I will wear what I want and what I am comfortable in to the gym. If someone has a problem with it-isn't that what Planet Fitness is for? We should be empowering women to be in the gym- and to be proud and confident in their bodies. Not driving them out because other members are jealous or uncomfortable with.. a sports bra?? C'mon Gold's. This is truly upsetting. I'll be exploring other gym options that are more comforting and welcoming. I'll make sure to pass this message along to my whole Fit Community. You guys should be ashamed.
UPDATE Gold's Gym just informed me Monday (4/2/18), they have changed their policy yet again, and now I can wear sports bra's ..I'm a happy girl :) Just wish they would be consistent with their policies! One week its this, another week its something else. But thanks for allowing me to be myself- much...
Read moreI responded to an ad that said "Join for $0 down and 30 days FREE!" Black friday deal. No asterisk, no star. No note saying terms and conditions apply. I have a picture of the ad. I went in and talked about the deal with the person at the front desk. Never had any indication that this deal would include hidden terms and conditions. I was hurried through a bunch of prompts on a signature pad while signing up. Never given any contractual information and the text of what I was initialing was never made available to me. Manager said it was emailed to me but didn't have my email address. I was never told anything but I was signing up for the black friday deal. No tour of the facility.
I went in and worked out. Nobody wearing masks despite a boulder county mandate at the time. I have a baby and can't bring covid and other diseases home. I've been a member of many gyms and this was just Dirty. Subpar equipment. Very limited machines. Decided not for me. Called to cancel. Have to go in in person or email. Email them and they tell me I have to pay for two months and an annual membership fee??? $110+ for one workout. Absolutely never discussed this with me. I went in and said I wanted to do the deal I signed up for online. Nobody explained anything about 2 months and an annual fee. Zero chance I would ever sign up for this at any gym without trying it at least once. UNBELIEVABLE!! Absolutely unethical practices and probably closer to fraud honestly. I keep seeing their promotions online and based on reviews, this is a...
