I can’t even begin to describe what an exceptional experience I had during my three week rehabilitation at Cal rehab Institute. I was on the eighth floor and everyone from the Doctors, Nurses, and the Physical and Occupational Therapists treated me with kindness, care and professionalism. Dr. Winship runs the 8th floor and Dr. Lee was pain management. Stephanie, Tomo and Manal stood out among the nurses, but all of them were great. Mario and Julius were my therapy gurus, but every single therapist encouraged me and pushed me in the nicest way. I made so much progress during my stay and I’m going home with confidence that I can continue the rehab journey and get to where I want to go… thank you, Dr Winship and your whole team! This is the best rehab hospital in the state of California! Here is my addition this glowing review: I forgot to mention the nursing aides, and they were a huge part of my recovery. Special mention goes to 8th floor aides Luis, Eduvina, Jeanette and Jason!! Thank you guys, so much for the ice water, the clean sheets, and the wonderful words of encouragement. You guys rock. I also have to mention Jessica Wilson, Patient experience, who greeted me when I first arrived And checked in on me frequently during my stay. Her great personality really cheered me up. All the therapy aides were also fantastic, especially Gina. And lastly, all the guys and gals who delivered my meals and took my orders: especially Lavel And Angelica… But everyone was terrific Thanks again, Cal rehab! You really are on top of your game

We owe my mom’s wellness and her second chance at a wholesome recovery to California Rehab Institute (CRI). After experiencing setbacks at a subpar skilled nursing facility, we are beyond grateful for the exceptional care provided by the outstanding staff, therapists, and doctors at CRI. Our concerns were always addressed and my mom was cared for. She had an infection in her salivary glands, and wounds due to PAD and the whole team cared for her. We never felt like her health was compromised. A special shoutout to the incredible team who supported my mom every step of the way: Physical Therapists: Lindsay, Nick, and Sara, whose coaching and motivation helped my mom walk again after her PONS stroke. Occupational Therapists: Megan, Stefanie, Mark, and Hiram, for their dedication and expertise. Nurses: Charlotte, Brooks, and Martin, for their compassionate care. Nursing Assistants: Alejandra, Yecenia, Kevin, and Abraham, for their constant support and kindness. Doctors: Dr. Hsin, Dr. Lee, and Dr. Bryson, for their exceptional medical guidance. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Case Manager Ericka Lee, who ensured my mom had the proper care and resources after leaving CRI. We are deeply thankful to the entire CRI team for making such a positive difference in my mom's recovery journey. It is no wonder they are ranked #23 in the nation!

California Rehabilitation Institute is, by far, the best place that anyone could go to for rehabilitation after hospitalization. It is a an acute rehabilitation facility, where patients receive 3 to 4 hours of therapy per day and approximately 15 hours of therapy each week. My 95-year-old mother received outstanding nursing care, medical supervision & treatment, and multiple modes of therapy while she was there for a 14-day stay. She was treated by a fantastic team of physicians who visited her daily (sometimes multiple times a day) while she was recovering after a recent hospitalization for a serious illness. CalRehab is not a skilled nursing facility (SNF). It is an acute rehabilitation facility with a program that is unique in Southern California. Throughout her stay, my mother engaged fully with all of the therapists and as a result, she achieved an amazing level of strength, and she recovered the skills needed for independent living. The case managers work with the family to ensure that patients will have everything that they will need in order to continue their recovery and maintain their independence upon returning home. If I could award more than five stars, I surely would.

I came to California rehabilitation institute about two weeks ago after a major surgery on my spine. I was transported from the hospital to The rehab about three days post operation. I didn’t know what to expect because of the bad reputation, rehab facilities get. Once I got to CRI, I was greeted by a Lovely woman by the name of Jessica. She was warm and escorted me and my friends to my room. I got settled in a big beautiful room then there was a parade of nurses checking on me around the clock. Don’t get me wrong. The pain was strong and I was uncomfortable but I immediately felt safe and cared for because I had two male night nurses by the name of Nolan and Fritz, or I like to call them night angels. That first night was difficult but my two angels were by my side, making sure I got through the pain and slept. The next morning there were doctors coming in one after another. My favorite Doctor.. Dr. Chung, who had a bedside manner that was funny and most enjoyable. Next was the smart and very thorough Dr. Lee, he was all about pain and relieving it. I couldn’t believe CRI had a doctor for just pain! I look forward to seeing him every day. Later, I got to see the very lovely Dr. Schwartz and Dr. Cox. I was so impressed with the level of care that CRI had. They immediately started PT and I met with Mal, Maddie, Rachel, Mario and of course little Maddie. This team of brilliant physical therapist got me going and feeling better almost immediately. One night I was not comfortable in my bed or with the recliner but within a couple of hours, a woman by the name of Diana and Mr Jeffery got me a new bed and a new recliner. I appreciate them more than they know. This is truly a remarkable place and the only thing that breaks my heart is that everyone in the United States can’t get this level of care. This place exemplifies how we should care for one another in this country. It is a great example of how a facility and the people that work there can make a difference in someone’s healing. Before I leave this page, I’d like to mention other remarkable people that work at CRI. The third floor Rocks… Yeze, JoJo, Karen, Betse, Irma, Jessica, Sade, Debra, class act. this funny duo kept me laughing all night …Jasmine and Gabby thank you! Betsy, and Farah. Thank you caring for me as if I was the only one on the...

DEADLY EXPERIENCE!!!!! Delivered my mom Home septic, asphyxiating and halfway through cardiac arrest.Zero stars, I placed trust into this facility and they were inhumane. Do not think because this is in Century City that you’re gonna get any better care you will NOT!

We were very hopeful that they would give us a good experience after previously having our mother there and not getting the best treatment. Doctor tried to encourage us. It was a place to go because most people liked it. WE ARE DESPERATELY HEART BROKEN! My mother was in this place and actually looking like she was starting to recover after her hospital. Stay from a broken leg shortly after she started to decline when we asked the nurses what was wrong with her. They said that she just couldn’t talk. Come to find out that she was actually asphyxiating on her own food and they were shoving 30% food down her throat according to Nurse, Persia. I thought when they brought her home, she would be normal. They had actually sent her home due to a broken leg through transportation. When my mother came home, she looked like she was very ill and unresponsive with her head hanging down, looking like the life was out of her. Even the transporters could not believe this that she was being sent home in this condition. We had guests in our house who couldn’t believe and witnessed her non-coherent. We sent foreign ambulance. My mother coded on the ambulance due to being sepsis just hours after being released from this place. We requested the doctors to run a test for UTI, but they declined. This would’ve prevented this entire ordeal. Please stay away from this facility. If you have a loved one and are not going to be there 24 seven to watch. By the way, I left several messages for Dr. Solmanatron trying to find out if they had medicated her and that’s why she weigh the way she was. It wasn’t until we posted a bad review. They decided to call us because they were upset about the review not even a single care as for humanity and a woman who had coded on an ambulance. This is a true Experience and we are devastated as a family right now you can imagine what we are going through at the moment. Please use your own judgment. May God help us all this is what our medical system...

I had a horrible experience here! I was encouraged by the Patient Experience Representative Francisco to write this review in hopes that the CEO reads it and contacts me regarding my experience and how this facility is being ran. I have been here a little over a month and I have been complaining to the Therapy staff regarding my schedule being scheduled back to back. Sessions can last 90 mins or 45mins. After my surgery when i arrived here my schedules were assigned one right after the other with no breaks in between. I spoke to the manager and she said she would take care of it and it was only that one time that it was changed. From that time to today it is still a problem that is not being addressed. I am an advocate for myself and one day a therapist came into my room and i was going to work on a machine that was prescribed to me to work up to 90 degrees, She wanted me to do 90 degrees and when i told her that i would not go straight to 90 degrees that i am supposed to work up to it she got upset, there is a weekly meeting that happens and they discuss your goals she went into the meeting and lied and told them that i am not doing my therapy and i will not allow her to do her job so my discharge date moved from 5/31 to 5/20! So now i am being kicked out of here? I immediately asked to speak to everyone that was in that meeting that made the decision to move my stay from 5/31 to 5/20 WITHOUT ME HAVING ANY THERAPY DONE ON MY HIP THAT I HAD SURGERY ON! i have many issues with being scheduled for two straight hours during lunch time where the trays and the therapist came at the same time and she said you can eat and i will come back in 15 mins! So I am not allowed to have lunch and let my food digest? From my first complaint to today this issue has not been addressed! I really hope the CEO comes and sees me regarding my stay because it was horrible! There are some really good nurses but there is absolutly NO STRUCTURE with the therapy department! The gym is way to small for them to try and cram 3 wheelchairs/2 walkers in at the same time and expect everyone to get an adequate amount of therapy! I hope this review gets read and he follows up...
