Everything at this hotel can and probably does run on a QR code, phone or card key, or delivery robot; this makes things convenient and easier for people who would rather stay in their rooms waiting for free room service delivery. Vouchers for evening wine or beer at the bar (once per evening of stay) are available. Two bottles of water and bagged snack upon arrival. Has an exercise room, pool, and whirlpool.
Meeting room and business centre with connected rooms. This hotel also has excellent choice of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion for sensitive skin and scalp sans harmful ingredients alongside not laundering bedsheets with any irritating detergents. The hair dryers are efficient and lightweight. And the clocks on the bedside table are easy to set and not very loud. Security have kicked out the raucus youths. Hilton and this hotel protects its workers from exploitation and violence and is advocating for their workers right to a livable wage and manageable work hours. They have a fair honors program that allows guests to redeem points on a myriad of things.
The airport shuttle is free and runs every 25-30 min. These people are transparent and detailed about what they are charging their guests for. Staff are helpful. The in-room sink and microwave are a wonderful addition for guests who do not wish to eat out everyday. No smoking. Rooms are very clean. Pillows were comfy. Rooms have good temp. regulation. I had a good nights sleep. Fortunately, there are other places nearby to eat for breakfast and dinner if food gets repetitive. They have a mini fridge for anything from water to medications. Coffee is readily available at breakfast area and near the lounge for those waiting on taxis and shuttles.
Because everything operates on tech., the staff here might forget to perform basic and critical functions such as having taxi phone numbers on hand and following through on wake up call requests. There is no offer of turn down service but room attendants can clean guest room everydayâupon request. They have dissuaded frequent cleaningâunless requestedâ because of health and safety concerns, since the pandemic. Breakfast here can become monotonous after 2 days but they serve fruits, pastries, eggs and ham, and cereals with yogurt. In-room coffee quality is good and operation of the machine for it is easy without instructions. The snack area next the reception desk can get expensive but provides things like antihistamines, advil, etc.
This hotel charges $6 for a large bottle of water and does not give out free water to guests after the initial two, so going elsewhere for water to sustain oneself for more than a day is necessary here such as Walmart, Starbucks, etc. Reception is helpful but to an extent; they might not have sufficient knowledge of the transit system here to tell where the nearest bus stops are and where they go. Taxis here may charge exorbitant amounts for short distances or if paying by card because of the fees placed on them. I recommend paying by cash, if you can. The drivers LA citizens utilize are Lyft and Hilton has a cooperation with Yellow Taxi. This hotel is more out of the way from downtown taking up to an hour by bus to get anywhere sight worthy.
There is a liquor store nearby and with it the somewhat seedy people who hang around outside. Best to check in as early as possible to get a good room. The Honors Program points expire after 2 years from the date of check-in. They only accept debit or credit card, so all other forms of payment are off the table. Deposit is high. If you are person who has to use the washroom shortly after breakfast, the trip back to your hotel room can be a rush of musical chairs with the elevators.
Overall, despite the challenges, I would come again and be willing to commit to the program to later give Hilton 5 stars. I believe in what they are doing for their workers is fair, humane, and within reason. And also that they provide excellent quality to price for product for their guests....
Read moreItâs currently 1:30am and Iâm staying at this hotel in room 222 with my family (including two toddlers) and itâs the most horrific experience of my life. We checked in around 3 (we were told we could have an early check in over the phone, only to be told that we couldnât when we arrived) because my son wasnât feeling well after a week at Disney. My 3yo son immediately threw up when we arrived and not one person came to assist or help clean up the vomit. The staff just left all of the vomit and paper towels that I had tried to use to wipe it up right in front of the main doors. There were no carts to use for our 9 pieces of luggage and stroller and when we asked the front desk they just shrugged. Once we got into our room, I was in shock by how bad it smelled and how many bugs I saw in the room. The AC was clearly not working AND there was something brown all over the comforters. We asked for new comforters and for the AC to be fixed, but 3hrs later we received two fleece blankets (no comforters) and they said they couldnât fix the ac but would bring us up a fan. They told us to just open the sliding door that doesnât have a screen on it and opens to a âporchâ on a main highway. This porch is just a rooftop that you could easily fall off of and lets in all of the fumes from the high way. This wasnât an option for us because of our small kids so itâs currently 76 degrees in our room. I managed to get about an hour of sleep before I was woken up by a massive party happening in the hotel and is still occurring at almost 2am. I went down to the front desk around midnight and asked again if there was anything they could do about the ac and the loud noise that was waking up my kids and they said they could move us to another room. I asked if I could make sure the ac is working first and they responded with âitâs too late for thatâ. They told me I would have to pack up all of our luggage and formally move out of the current room to move into a new one, which seemed like too big of a hassle in the middle of the night with again no luggage carts to be found. I asked if they could at least ask the graduation party guests that were screaming in the halls and the main lobby a few feet away from us to quiet down since it was waking my kids up and they simply said ânoâ. As I walked back to my room, the security guard was going into a room right next to ours that had presumably members of the graduation party because there was loud music and screaming coming from that room as well. However, it has not quieted down anything. Iâm so upset that this is what our last day on vacation has turned into and anxious about the 6hr flight tomorrow with two toddlers and no sleep. I would never stay at an embassy suites again and would highly recommend that no one come to this one. Iâm shocked that this place hasnât been shut down with all of the obvious health and safety concerns I can clearly see. We booked this so that we could have a good night rest before our flight the next day and so that the kids could splash around in the pool beforehand, however no sleep is happening, the pool looks and smells worse than the room, and my son is still vomiting so none of that...
Read moreCurrently staying here but will checkout later.
Day 1: Our family checked in early (3 rooms adjacent) and was told only 2 rooms were currently available. The 3rd (2 queen, 1 pullout) will be available by 4pm so we went on our way. Arrived back late in the day and was told since we were checking in late, the 3rd adjacent room was released and given to another guest and our 3rd room will instead be in another floor. Too tired to argue so we just let it go at this point but the whole point seems off since we were already there and checked in 2 rooms already and the 3rd one not being ready yet was the only reason for the delayed checkin in it.
Went inside and opened the pullout bed and the sheets and mattress were soaked in pee. Either housekeeping never changed the pullout sheets since the pullout was in sofa mode, or they saw the pee and decided to just change the sheets and refold it, causing the wet pee to restain the new sheets. Either way, this is alarming in sanitary levels.
Called front desk for mattress change and was told that since it's 11pm, no more housekeeping to change the mattress. Our only option was to move rooms but their only available rooms are 1 king with pullout (2 beds) while our current room is 2 queen with pullout (3 beds) which our group needs. Only solution was to stay in same room and for them to provide mattress cover and change of sheets with the assurance that housekeeping will replace the mattress the next day. Since it was late, then this is our only option. Went to take a bath and the drain is stopped with so many hair and 2 hairties. We had to clean it ourselves. No idea how housekeeping cleaned this without realizing the drain is stopped unless they never cleaned it in the first place after previous guest checked out.
Day 2: Called front desk to followup on housekeeping but was told they will arrive and change the mattress around 9:30am and it was too early (7:30-8am ish). Was assured again that there is a note in file for housekeeping to change the mattress so we left for the day. Came back around 8:30pm to a cleaned room with the same exact pullout mattress. How did we know? Because I placed the mattress protector, a duvet, bedsheet, 2 thick blankets folded up in the pee area, and a final flat sheet before we slept in it last night. Housekeeping DID NOT CHANGE THE MATTRESS. Went directly to frontdesk to complain since this is truly a sanitary issue. The front desk I spoke to was the only reason why I gave 2 stars to service since he tried his best to have the mattress changed but none were available. He instead changed our room since a 2 bed queen finally became available. New room's beds had no pee thankfully but the bathroom drain is broken (you can pull it out even when screwed in) but at this point, a bed with no pee is the greatest feeling so we stuck by this. We also pulled out a used candy wrapper under the single sofa so obviously housekeeping didn't clean well. They seem to only clean what is visible.
NEVER EVER STAYING HERE AGAIN. HOUSEKEEPING IS...
