My first ever Google Review because I feel like everyone needs to know about this amazing gym! I can’t say enough good things about GymTonic LA! Over the past seven months, my fitness journey has transformed in ways I never imagined possible. The trainers here are top-notch, each bringing their unique style and energy to the classes. They truly listen to my fitness concerns and provide effective solutions, and I’ve seen real results as a result of their guidance. I now have more visible lean muscle than ever and feel like I’m in the best shape of my life! Working out is never a chore; it’s always motivating and uplifting.
My favorite classes and trainers:
Aaron: Strength Training This class has significantly helped me build muscle and strength. Aaron's energy and support are superb, and his attention to form and technique is impressive. He ensures we maximize each movement while avoiding injury. Each session is carefully structured, incorporating a variety of compound and isolation exercises that target different muscle groups.
Edoardo: Full Body Bootcamp, Fit Bench Burn, Best Butt Ever, Core Burn-Out These classes are always a blast! I love how he pushes us while keeping the atmosphere light and fun. His sessions perfectly blend strength training and cardio, with a variety of exercises that keep us engaged and motivated. Whether it’s circuit training, high-intensity intervals, or functional movements, I always leave feeling accomplished. Andiamo!
Maddy: Trampoline Dance This is my favorite cardio session! It’s a unique way to get moving and always leaves me smiling. Maddy’s energy is infectious, creating a fun atmosphere that makes you forget you’re exercising. The music is fantastic (she plays the best songs), and the dynamic routines incorporate dance moves that are easy to follow yet challenging enough to get your heart racing.
Claire: Fit Bench Burn This class is an excellent combination of strength training and cardio, focusing on using the bench to tone and sculpt. We utilize the bench for a range of exercises—from lunges and step-ups to tricep dips and core work. Claire always mixes things up, ensuring we target different muscle groups and keep our workouts fresh and exciting. She also teaches amazing yoga classes that really help with my muscle stretching and recovery.
Jenny: Hip Hop Dance Cardio I love how she encourages us to express ourselves through dance, making every session feel liberating and uplifting. Her teaching style is engaging and accessible, breaking down the moves for all skill levels.
Not classes, but a huge shoutout to Grace and Jackson at the front desk! They are the loveliest people and always go above and beyond to help. Also, a big thank you to directors Taylor, Zoe, Phillip, and Aisha for their friendliness and support. You all make GymTonic LA such a welcoming place!
What I love most about GymTonic LA is the community. Everyone here is friendly and supportive, making each class feel like a gathering of friends rather than just a workout. The positive vibe is incredibly motivating and inspires me to give my all every time.
I’ve noticed improvements in my balance and overall strength, and it’s amazing to see continuous progress in others who attend regularly — they’re all killing it! Overall, I’ve gained visible lean muscle, and built so much confidence while having a blast! If you’re looking for a place that combines effective workouts with a fun, motivating environment, GymTonic LA is the...
Read moreAttention all Gym owners, if you can come within a mile of what GymTonic offers; you’re winning at life.
From my first experience, walking in the front door and right away greeted by one of their amazing staff members “Grace, who is Just an incredible human being overall. I was then welcomed by another staff member “Jackson” who offered me water or coffee, before giving me a tour of the facility.
Just for the simple fact that staff members made eye contact with me and greeted me like a human being instead of what you get at most gyms when you walk in the front door, which unfortunately, is usually no response at all because their staff can’t bear to take their eyes off their phones, or they’re just rude in general.
This place is different!!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻. You also don’t have to worry about a bunch of 20-year-old college kids from UCLA running around the gym, taking selfies with their shirts off, Like you would see it pretty much any in every single LA Fitness in the area…lol.
The gym is so unbelievably clean that you could probably eat off the floor (not recommended, but jus saying… L O L), not to mention every one of their staff members from custodial staff To trainers, to Specialty chiropractic and physical therapy specialist to managerial staff are ALL Incredibly friendly and outgoing to everyone.
Sorry for the long post/review, but I had to save the BEST for last. After joining this gym, I unfortunately had to get a Arthroscopic knee operation through the VA here in West LA. If I would’ve listened to the VA and Just used their therapy treatments once a month I would still probably be in crutches or worse.
Instead, I decided to be proactive and I hire, I would say hands-down one of the best personal trainers I have ever come across in my entire LIFE!!!!.
Her name is Courtney Crump and she is an absolute rockstar!!!!, If you’re coming out off a medical procedure and may need help getting your mind, body and spirit healthy again, this woman can do it.
I’m currently 10 weeks post surgery and because of Courtney I am able to do things physically I have not been able to do an over 20 years. She’s not only the kind of person that will show you exactly what to do and what not to do, but more importantly, she’s going to teach you the why’s and why not’s and helping you to to have a better understanding on Nutrition and body mechanics. I cannot say enough good things her. She has helped give me my life back 🙏🏻🥹
GymTonic is not just a gym, it’s a community and it’s a team of educated fitness professionals who genuinely care about every single one of their clients and members. This gym needs to be in EVERY CITY!!!...
Read moreI wanted to join this gym since before it opened! I told myself this year that if I worked out at my cheap gym for a year, I would join gymtonic as a reward. I'm glad I didn't wait the whole year! It's a really beautiful gym. If this gym works for your budget (~$200/month) and fitness goals, you won't regret joining!
The premium price is reflected in the quality of experience-- from the equipment to the level of cleanliness to the appropriate level of crowdedness. You don't have to wait to use equipment, it's not over-subscribed.
My favorite perks are: Towel service is included. The showers are nicer than my home shower. The infrared sauna is a huge bonus-- I was able to cancel my classpass because I was using that for classes and infrared sauna use. You basically only need to bring yourself -- for my inexpensive gym, I had to get all kinds of little gym accessories (barbell collars, warmup bands, etc.) and carry them around myself. GymTonic has all the little extras already and more.
Everything is immaculately clean. Everyone seems to respect the space and re-rack the weights etc.
I haven't yet taken any classes but they are at convenient times and there's a good enough variety for me.
I noticed that a lot of the reviews mention people by name. The team has a really friendly vibe. I'm kind of an in-and-out gym kind of person but I appreciate that any time I've interacted with the staff they have been super competent...
