Me and my partner are trying Hot 8 Yoga free for a week. Thank you for this opportunity.
This review is for Sherman Oaks location. I will start with the pros since I like to be positive. It is a nice facility, looks new, modern and clean. Our first class there was with Marja L and we loved her! She would come to us and make corrections and help us make adjustments when needed which is highly appreciated and I think every instructor should do. The point is to do these positions correctly as much as you can and sometimes it is hard to adjust yourself. I love the hot fusion classes even tho they tend to be all the same every time which makes it a bit pointless to come to class. A little variety would be nice.
Now with the cons: This is my personal opinion but I think if they are offering a free week that should come with free rentals (towel, mat if you need it) It is a bit unpleasant to go for your free class and having to pay $5 or more to rent the mat, towel etc. Give away 2 or 3 classes instead of a week but make it a nice experience all the way. On the same note Patrick D was at the register and since we were a bit late and we left our wallets in the car he was a pretty rude and kept pointing out that the mat and towel are rentals and we HAVE TO PAY! We got that the first time there was no need to make us feel like criminals... it really ruined our whole experience and was absolutely unnecessary. The next class we took was on a weekday - this was a very unpleasant experience since the locker rooms are way too small to accommodate the huge crowd of people that come out of class all at once and there are ONLY 5 SHOWERS! This is absolutely unacceptable. I definitely wonât be paying $200 a month to wait for a shower when I am all wet after class and I canât even get to my locker. Big disappointment - I ended up going home in my wet clothes because I could not deal with the chaos in the ladies locker room! The second class we took was Power 1 which said the temperature is lower but it was not - way hotter than the hot fusion. We told the instructor and he tried to tell us it was because we were at the end of the room and it is good for us. Well if the end of the room gets hot maybe there should be a ventilation system to cool down that side of the room - just a suggestion. There were also way too many people in this class for the size of the room - considering mats and distance needed to enjoy your workout. There should be a cap to how many people can sign up for a specific class/studio so it can be enjoyable without anyone being crammed in the corner. And now the fun part - at the end we had to do 2 validations - one was on the 8th floor??? I have never seen anything like that?! So my partner had to run to the 8th floor validate out ticket and then go back to the studio for a second validation. Well maybe they should get another machine LIKE the one on the 8th floor?! We definitely wonât be paying $200 a month for pretty much the same classes with too many people and not big enough facility to accommodate that! We wonât be returning to this...

Read moreIâm new to hot yoga first I tried Ashâs Barre class the first time I enjoyed it we used weights and it was fast paced as advertised . She was a good teacher . I had to watch what others were doing in the class to keep up and know the poses and things because I was new . The second time I tried Freddy G Hot power fusion class I liked it better . It was a more chill slower pace which was more what I was looking for since I was new to yoga . The rooms get very hot make sure you bring a big jug of some nice ice cold water . You can rent a yoga mat and towel from the front if you donât have your own . Freddyâs class left me feeling amazing . It was such a nice work out and I feel my body ( my legs ) sore in a good way from the class . I love this place I will be returning. I want to try to come twice a week . I would definitely recommend trying if you never have before . Theyâre are showers available and lockers for you to store your things during the class.
** UPDATE -đ
I loved hot yoga so much and I had convinced bent boyfriend to try it for the first time with me . I booked a class online and he was going to try the free trial week . This time I drove to the class ( my previous classes I attended I had been dropped of in the front ) parking took a few minutes to find because you have to drive all the way to the top floors of the parking structure . By the time we got down to the front desk to check in we were literally ONE MINUTE past the check in time period and the lady at the front desk January 27th at 1:00pm told us it was too late . We were so disappointed . She didnât offered to give me a credit for the class that I paid for to come back another time or anything . We just walked out and I cried in the car đ I havenât been back since . I doubt my boyfriend will either đ
If you are going to come make sure you come 15-20 mins before you class time to find parking so this doesnât...
