To be quite truthful, I actually hated the place. Maybe it was just too late & I was totally exhahsted. That round trip (from Long Beach to Chatsworth Metro Station & back) was absolutely, positively grueling. It is not a trip that I would suggest a senior citizen take, to say the least. When I decided to make this trip, I figured, "how difficult could it possibly be?" Omg, difficult is putting it mildly. Price wise, it was terrific, cuz I had gone from Long Beach to the valley to see my son a few times since I stopped driving my car in September. But the other times I took the Long Beach FlyAway bus to LAX & then when I got to LAX, I took the FlyAway bus from LAX to Van Nuys & then back home in the opposite direction. But that round trip fare cost me $25 more. That was the reason I looked for a different way to travel. I felt the signs weren't self-explanatory. Plus finding someone to answer my questions was almost impossible, even though there seemed to be employees in the area. If I had just followed all the other people that were on the same bus as I was, I wouldn't have been so darn frustrated. But of course, there was nothing that told me to do so. And the old grey mare just isn't as fast as she used to be. Someone much younger than I would probably do just fine, I guess. But right now I couldn't be...
Read moreThe North Hollywood terminal is very reliable as well as efficient. Across the street is the red line which many people prefer because it will get you from one destination to another very quickly. I prefer to take the subway system because it is a system that I am the most familiar with.
The picture showing under my is actually something that I found at a different location in Hollywood California. The Rock rockets to be unknown I don't know what it is however I am wondering if anyone else who is reading this review of recognize it and let me know what type of material it is. At first I thought it was shrapnel from a car accident. Further analysis y proved this to not be made if tin or metal... The material is quite soft and extremely malleable. The shape of it is twisted, like pretzel dough, the appearance is silver in color and shiny. There indented markings which appear to be tracks, on the sides. It's shape has strong resemblance to one of a moon rock.
Please let me know if you have any familiarity with this type of material.
I am eager to learn as much as I can about this particular finding, and other stones and gems. I consider myself to be a novice collector. This is one of my most new points of fascination.
I would love to hear from...
Read moreI'm a big fan of subway riding, as I'm from Boston. LA's system is not the greatest, as there are only limited areas you can reach without also riding buses (of which I am not a fan). I work in many locations, so I only ride when it makes sense. That being said, the North Hollywood station is a pretty good example of the stations throughout the city. The recently opened up a second entrance, so folks can get to the train without crossing the very busy Lankershim Boulevard. Trains usually run every 10-15 minutes (less on weekends and at night). There is a lot of parking, but it fills up early. I usually end up at the meters on the street, which cost about $4 for the day (cheaper than parking downtown). If you're coming up from the south there are a number of places for food and drinks nearby in...
