Ono Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Okay... I'm having a bit of a hard time trying to figure out how to explain how I feel about this place. I've been to two of these locations. The first one was how I expected it to be. Not great, but also not completely terrible. I went to this location, after I got done eating ( I despise wasting food) I knew I was never going to come back to any of these places on my own merits. I ordered a chicken cutlet. Its such a simple thing. I don't know what on earth happened but it tasted and felt like they forgot about it in the fryer but still decided to serve it to me anyway. This combined with a pile of overcooked, mushy rice, and a laughably tiny glob of macaroni salad, for the price I paid for it, was almost insulting. I spent the whole meal just washing it down with my beverage. At least the woman at the counter was nice? She did her job well. That should be acknowledged. I was not displeased with the service. I came in today on 09/06 to pick up my ONLINE order. 5-6 parties came right after me as I waited 30 minutes for my food. I saw everyone else who ordered in person get their food before me. What’s the point of ordering online then??? When I talked to the cashier I was told “the tickets come in order that’s how it works”. The people who order in person ordered AFTER ME. I saw my box at the bottom of all the other orders which meant my order came out first so there’s no clear system on how they are packing orders. I received my food cold. Not to mention it’s currently 104 degrees out and the restaurant felt hotter...

Decided to try this place as it has pretty good reviews and was very disappointed. We got the Hawaiian BBQ chicken and Island Fire chicken. With both meals there were almost no good pieces of chicken. They both had lots of fatty pieces and the pieces that weren't fatty were very chewy. I'm not sure why the quality was horrible, but it was. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the actual flavor wasn't half bad (if only they didn't use low quality chicken).
