My husband goes to school at Paul Mitchell here and has employee parking access. We sold our vehicle to move down here from Oregon and so we both have been using scooters while we save up for a new car. I'm giving this a one star rating solely because of the poor security they supposedly offer here. My husband parks his scooter in full view of a security camera and on the first floor where security is supposed to be top-notch for employee parking (there are guards and gates surrounding this area where he parks, and it is also in plain sight of where security frequents, close to the elevator and escalators.) My husband is on a name-to-name basis with the staff here and he only uses the best quality locking systems on our scooters; locks that would require large, heavy-duty bolt cutters to break in order for someone to steal them. His scooter was stolen a few weeks ago and as it goes, he had to start using mine. Today, he just informed me that my scooter was now stolen as well. Know that these security guards are well aware of thieves frequenting their supposedly "most secure area", and even with that knowledge, their real-time footage from their hi-def cameras, having gates and security on either side, AND being within direct view of where the scooters were parked, they still let someone just walk up with obviously large bolt cutters and steal our only mode of transportation two times! Thanks to their secure employee parking, we now have no transportation at all. They won't release the camera footage to us, nor will they contact the police and file a report, or contact the police when they see this thieving in-action. WE have to go to the police station (mind you, without transportation) and without camera footage, to report this and then rely on the police and the oh-so-reliable security team to finish the report for investigation. I truly don't understand the point of the security here when they don't secure anything. They are allowing people to regularly walk around with huge bolt cutters and steal from people that shop and work at this galleria. If you are shopping here, I recommend parking literally anywhere else. If this has also happened to you, please leave your own review and experience with security. And lastly, if this review has moved you at all, please go get a hair cut by my husband. You'll get a great deal and you'd be helping a good man and his pregnant wife gain real security in our new life down here. He is in the top of his class and he does everything; cuts, fades, shaves, colors, treatments, and styling for kids, men, and women. Just ask for Jonathan #4895. Any tips he gets will go to our future vehicle. Thank you to all who have read this. We're praying that our good deeds and karma will end up persevering...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have a few concerns regarding the actions and decisions of the security personnel, specifically Supervisor Justin, a female (African-American), and Roberto, who I believe are employed by Allied Universal. What I experienced was annoying, bothersome, frustrating, maddening, and upsetting. Pardon me in advance for any limited information.
I have lived in Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks for the past 9-10 years. I've been visiting the Sherman Oaks Galleria for years. It was one of the places my ex-girlfriend and I would visit frequently for pleasure a little over two decades ago. I made a few good memories at the Sherman Oaks Galleria.
Now, my circumstances today are a lot different than before and unfortunate. Life hasn't been easy for me as of late. I am homeless, unemployed, and on parole, not including the backlash and disrespect I have been enduring from people within the community for a while. People have been antagonizing me by making obscene comments about me and slandering me. It has been very frustrating.
Nevertheless, I have been visiting the Sherman Oaks Galleria for pleasure, to use the restroom, to charge my ankle monitor and electronics, and to attend over-the-phone group sessions. During my time there, there were a few instances where some of the security personnel gave me a difficult time over charging my ankle monitor and electronics. One of the security personnel so happens to be an African-American male (slender, dreads, black hair, dark-skinned, and about 6 ft 2 in. to about 6 ft 4 in. in height). He told me that I was not allowed to use the outlets a few times. He was polite and respectful. However, I explained to him that I did not see the problem with charging my electronics. Eventually, Supervisor Justin approached me about my using the outlets and informed me that he would contact the police if he saw me using the outlets again. I decided to stop using the outlets. I chose to charge my stuff elsewhere. Although I continued visiting the Sherman Oaks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI honestly hate coming here mostly because parking is a disaster. Tickets never read in the machine, half the time the machines that validate the tickets donāt work so you have to insert the ticket and then push the button and talk to someone who makes you read a bunch of stuff off the ticket and then let you out. But this is like 65% of the time. Iāve had to wait 15 minutes because thereās a line of people that have to do this because their tickets donāt work. This may sound not like a big deal but going to the gym there, huge hassle. Also, everyone knows it doesnāt work. Hasnāt for like 10 years now. Get a new machine. Bet you lose more money than you would spend to fix it. Honestly not surprising that most of the businesses that rent space here disappear in the first year or 2.
Iām also writing this review simply because I said to the parking attendant. āWhy donāt you guys just fix the machine or get a new one?ā And he said, āyou gonna pay for it?ā
The answer is no, but I also didnāt pay you for parking today because your machine didnāt work. I guess it keeps...
