Van Ness Recreation Center — Attraction in Los Angeles

The park is awesome except the outdoor water play is never working consistently due to some one keeps pushing emergency water shut off button and it takes days to restart. Many keep suggesting put a box over the shutoff button which is openly display and openly accessible to any one walking through the park. I feel they purposely leave expose to have excuse to have water off. Public pool does not allow life vest and pool is not suitable for all to use water play gives equal opportunity to water fun and is never...

The park it's ok. But if you're planning to enroll your kids for winter camp, summer camp or any other activities. Think twice, the new director is inapproachable , the fees are high in compare to others parks. If you enroll kids on camp get ready to buy extra camp shirts or use the same one every day.... not for my kiddos...we don't wear duty clothes and I don't have the time to wash everyday or the extra money to buy more shirts. I'm very disappointed...also didn't have...

Came here for the first time in over ten years. The park looks peaceful now. Didn't see any gang presence as there once used to be. Just friends playing basketball, random guys exercises on the equipment (cool for dips, pull/chin-ups etc), and soccer teams practicing. There were a few homeless people on the side but that's almost expected at all parks (LA's homeless problem is getting worst).
