The park is small and nice when special events are going on usually for vets. They push the homeless across the street (some of which may very well be vets), sweep up the trash. The parks poorly design so that anytime it rains the dirts runs off on to the sidewalk and the street making the sidewalk unusable.
The park was previously named for Fr Junipero Serra but after the statue of him was vandalized they renamed it for a native village, because what better way to honor the natives who's land was taken than naming a park full of homelessness, trash and drugs after them? /s
Strangely enough, Fr Serra actually advocated for improving the conditions of the natives but his statues was removed while across the street less than 300 ft away is the statue of the King of Spain was is largely responsible for the colonization of California including the missions and the towns in the 18th century, and his subordinate the governor of California. Both of them have way more blame than Fr Serra did, but their statues remain while Serra's is gone.
