My 6 year old son and I were at the cash register paying for our food when we overheard an employee raising her voice, getting visibly frusterated at a scale that apparently didn't work for her (it worked fine for my order). She went to the back of the store (feet away from where my son and I were standing) and started raising her voice, obviously agitated about the scale. She then returned to the scale and was at a point where she was overrun with emotions and then proceeded to curse loud enough for the customers to hear her. My son and I were in the front row as she was using profane language, and none of the other employees seemed to reprimand her or try to stop her, so I stepped in and told her to watch her language, as there is a child right in front of her. Her response was irate, she reacted with anger and irritation, telling me I do not know her and that she is like this because it is busy in the store. I told her that a busy atmosphere does not warrant swearing, especially in front of customers and CHILDREN. Her response was just mind boggling. She was irate and defensive and had zero remorse for what she did. I demanded to speak to a manager or owner, but there wasn't anyone there, except for a cook/supervisor. As he was coming over, that irate employee stormed into the back of the store, saying "fuc*ing fat...." and then disappeared to the back of the shop. The cook asked me what happened, and I told him the timeline of events. He said he would relay the message to the owner. He never asked for my contact information. Someone like that should not be working directly with customers. Someone who has an anger problem should not work around places that also attract children. Not only did she predispose my son to foul language, but she proceeded to use foul language and body shame me in front of my own child. I have never ever seen anything like this in my entire life. My son told me in the car that I am not fat and that the woman was being very mean. To the owner of this shop: are you proud of keeping an employee like that in your shop who has this type of effect on children? I'm very tempted to report this to news stations. I am beyond disgusted...
Read moreBest Cassata Cake I've ever had!!! I got a Cassata Cake and some cannoli treats for my Mother's birthday. I also got a raspberry lemon cupcake for my sister and I. First let's talk about this cake. They added the saying and the delicious chocolate covered strawberries. This cake was amazing. We all loved how beautiful and delicious it looked on the outside. We all said wow when we cut into it and saw how great it looked inside with the cream and strawberry filling. The cake tasted amazing. It was fresh, moist, and so good that it literally melted in your mouth. The cupcakes were superb as always. The service was warm and welcoming. Every staff member greeted me with a hello may I help you. The young lady who waited on me was so professional that I would never know she was in training if the other staff member hadn't come out. I really like their food and highly recommend it. We will be getting all our birthday cakes from here from now on. Excellent!!! Oh, cake was so good my mother was so excited to get it into the house for another piece, she left her purse in the car. And she NEVER does...
Read moreEverything looked amazing. It was difficult finding someone to assist though. Nothing is labeled, so no way to know what most things are, and not one price tag to be found; I'm sure that's a marketing thing but it is a bit frustrating. The selection of food/pastries was pretty diverse and as I said, it all looked very appealing! I was more than a little taken aback by how much food was left out in the open, some uncovered even. I would've bought a few of the food selections but felt maybe it wasn't being stored properly, from a safety standpoint. When I finally got someone to help me, she was very nice. I bought 3 muffins (they were huge), 6 cookies, a mousse bomb, loaf of bread, and very small bag of pita chips (which tasted amazing!)...came to around $35. Was a bit taken aback by that; but again, would've appreciated having prices marked on...
