My husband brought in a bag of Disney watches that needed batteries. He trusted Ken and did not ask for a receipt nor did he count the watches. We estimate that there were about 25 to 30 watches. We are collectors and have hundreds of watches. He had them for months. My husband picked them up and again was not given a receipt. When he went to wear one of his favorite watches he noticed he could not find it. The same thing happened to me. He suspected that Ken had not returned all of our watches so he went back in with one eatch fir a battery. Once again Ken wanted him to leave it there but he insisted that he would wait. When he looked into case there was his watch a long with 6 other Disney watches. I should add that he doesn't sell Disney watches. He brought me back. I went in alone and when I saw the watches I knew that they were ours. We confronted him and he said his brother in law had purchased them at auction. We called the police but since we had no proof they couldn't do anything. The officer did say that days latter he saw a copy of the receipt. He wouldn't let us see it but did give us the name of the auction house. I contacted them and spoke to the president and owner. She had no record of Ken or his store. She said the last Disney watches that had gone up on auction was on August 24, 2016. She described the watches and they were the ones in Ken's store. She also told us what a legitimate receipt would look like and what information would be on it. The receipt be showed the officer was a fake. She even offered to call the officer but he said he was satisfied and would not investigate further because $1000 of watches wasn't a big enough monetary value to warrant more of his time. Read moreI went in to get my engagement ring resized. They had a good price ($35) and a relatively fast turnaround time, although they were a few days later than what they originally told me. The people were extremely helpful - my fiancé didn't have a ring yet and wasn't sure about wearing one, and they gave him a silicone one to test out while we waited for my ring to get back, and even let us keep it.
However, one of the side diamonds of my ring fell out the day I got my ring back. My ring was custom made, so I called the jewler who made it for me (he's in Arizona, which is why I didn't have him resize it). He said that they probably used too much heat on such a delicate ring which could have made the prongs loosen. I ended up having to pay for expedited shipping to send it to Arizona to be fixed in time for my wedding. Overall, the customer service at Hillcrest Jewlers was good, but the...
