Marquette Park — Attraction in Mackinac Island

Great community gathering spot in the village where you can rest from biking or walking. Also serves as a good central meeting place if you're travelling with others. The park is on a slope at the base of the bluff, so you get a view of the harbor. You also get great view of the walls of the fort on the top of the bluff above the park. A "secret" stairway on the edge of the park takes you up to Huron St. The park is filled with lilac bushes, but not very many trees, so it's not the best for a finding a shady spot. Well taken care of park. The only area on the island where the roads didn't have horse poo laying around everywhere. Right at the end of Lake Shore Dr. and Market St. Can't miss it. A stones throw from where the ferry drops you off. Right in front of Ft. Mackinac.

Idk if people are allowed to walk on the grass. I passed by multiple times at various times of day and never saw anyone...

Marquette Park is a landscaped park located on Mackinac Island in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is part of Mackinac Island State Park and stands on the edge of Mackinac Island's harbor on the Round Island Channel and just east of downtown Mackinac Island.
