There's no real need to write a review of this or any place on the island. They are all the same place. Everything costs the same and it's all the same pre packaged ingredients the bring in by boat in every restaurant. This place has a cute diner feel and the staff was all trying their best to accommodate an endless stream of tourists. The food was fine and about what you'd expect. I'm mostly very confused by the chilaquiles and I hope the owner reads this. I don't know who came back from the Southwest and told every restaurant in Michigan how to make chilaquiles wrong but they should be jailed. Serving a fried egg on top of stale chips in salsa is not chilaquiles. The irony is that there's probably a lot of stale chips on the island but if you actually cooked the chips with the eggs like you're supposed to, you could make a really good breakfast out of them. I don't blame the pancake house for this, I'm just saying it could really improve...

Well I always enjoyed eating at the house of pancakes when visiting mackinaw island they are usually busy and the way I really didn't mind wasn't that long. The problem I had is when we were see that we were seen in the restaurant next door which was the ice cream restaurant and it was freezing cold the air was blowing it was so cold on the island because it was early morning and then it was freezing in the restaurant that air literally is blowing on our heads and it was hard to enjoy the meal because it was so cold and before I can finish ,my meal my meal was cold I write my pancakes hot and fluffy. We asked to be seen inside the restaurant dining room we had already did our weight and we were seated what was cold or they needed to keep the ice cream cold it didn't make sense to us and it was...

We had breakfast Thursday, June 20 around 9am. It was very busy and we registered our names in a waiting list. It took around 30 minutes to get a table. The gentleman who was managing the waiting list was very well trained and was very helpful. The waitress was very nice and prompt. Due to diet restrictions I needed help to customize the food. The waitress was very cooperative. For example, she clarified that multiple meats, fries share the same friers. She helped us get the breakfast items that lined up with our dietary restrictions. I ordered veggie 3 egg omelette. I wanted to have fries and hashbrowns, but after she clarified that these were fried in the same oil in which meats were fried, we dropped the idea. The taste of food was good, service was professional...

This is one of the nicest breakfast you can have on the island. Breakfast options are kind of limited. And the food/ dining experience on the island needs lots of upgrades. For lunch and dinner I always go to the Yankees Rebel restaurant. After visiting 3 times, and trying so many places, it comes down to these two places for breakfast and lunch and dinner. Many people recommend the Chuck Wagon but I was never able to get in because the place is so small and always crowded, and their food options are too greasy for my taste. My family always stay at the Main Street Inn and Suites, you must call them or email them on their website to reserve but they are so nice!

We had a delicious breakfast here! The food was fresh and flavorful, and the service was quick. We were sat immediately despite it being a busy day, which was a nice surprise for a party of two. The only downside was witnessing a manager publicly critique an employee during the rush. While I understand that feedback is important — especially in the moment — it was disappointing to see it handled in a way that seemed discouraging, especially since the employee appeared to be doing her best. That said, the team overall was working hard and doing great. Keep up the good work, and take it easy on each other — it really does make a difference!

Our family stopped here for lunch while on the island yesterday. We were sat right away and served quickly. Chicken noodle soup, chili, chicken tender basket and kids personal pizza with fries was on the menu. Everyone liked it. We all shared and were thoroughly impressed. Not bad pricing and a great location. The only reason for 4 stars vs. 5 stars is no bathrooms are in the restaurant. We went specifically to have lunch and clean bathrooms but were directed to the public restrooms outside which we were specifically trying to avoid.
