The city of Madeira charges too much for their pay for public parking. A recent increase to $2.00! Which means, if going to local restaurants, you have to pay at least $4.00 just eat and not worry about a ticket. Oh and don't back into your spot, they will fine you for that also! I've found St Pete Beach WAY more fun with a plethora of shop, restaurants and bars to choose from. Oh and imagine this concept...free parking to encourage tourism! Now let's get to the public restrooms. They are disgusting, ill maintained, And usually broken. A friend of mine lives right across from one of the beach accesses and stated that the restrooms can be out of order for weeks on end. Local businesses get a bad reputation because visitors associate the public restroom with their companies. Where is all the money going from the parking? Well, it's not to maintain the restrooms! If the city doesn't want to maintain them, they should shut them down. At least Treasure Island rents restroom area out to a company. They charge for showers and the place is spotless. The city should be ashamed of themselves. I can walk to Madeira from my condo in Treasure Island. I can tell you right now. I walk the exact...
Read moreWe have been visiting Madeira Beach front and park for years and never been disappointed. The beach is well maintained, the sand it is always clear like sugar and it is safe for children and those who do not have much experience swimming.
Super family and children friendly outdoor space. Great for running and exercising in the mornings.
To avoid the crowd our family gets there either pretty early around 8 in the morning. We love to see the day coming alive with lots of wildlife, all kind of birds and even dolphins. Somedays we arrive there after 3 in the afternoon and wait for the breathtaking sunset and have fun taking lots of beautiful pictures.
There are many of easy access to the beach and, fairly amount of parking around. The beach access is very close to Treasure Island Shopping Center with lots and lots of stores and restaurants. There is also supermarket close by. We use ParkMobile app to search for available spots around.
Madeira Beach is for sure one of our favorite places on the east of St. Petersburg / Clearwater and the Tampa area in Florida. Highly recommended. You will not regret...
Read moreGorgeous beach. The water is that lovely green/blue color and so clear. The sand is super soft and you just get a relaxed vibe being here. We came on a saturday and it got pretty crowded but I didn’t feel like it was too much, it didn’t feel like there were way too many people. Jellyfish absolutely everywhere in the water. I don’t know if they sting or not but just something to be aware of. There were also a lot of people smoking which was really disappointing to me because there were tons of families with young children around too. But, what’s nice is you can rent an umbrella and chairs for $25 for entire day, they close at 7pm. I think it’s either 10 or $15 for just the chairs. The concession and gift shop part is just awesome. There’s live music every saturday and the lady who sings is incredibly talented and a great entertainer. They have so many different food options I was not expecting, and the food was actually decent. Parking is not free but I don’t think it’s over...
