Madeira Beach Snack Shack — Restaurant in Madeira Beach

Stopped in today with my daughter after swimming at the beach. I cant recommend this place for a few reasons. First I ordered the 1/2 pound burger, just lettuce, tomato and onion, no fries, it was almost 11.00. Daughter got a chili hot dog with fries. Bill was almost 21.00 the thing that upsets me is I work in restaurants, cut and patty 8 ounce burgers for 20+ years. The hamburger was 4-5 ounces at most. I guarantee you it's not an 8 ounce burger. Looked like a McDonald's burger. With no cheese or sides 11.00 bucks is insane. 6.00 for a can of beer from a bartender who seemed more friendly to the drunk "regulars" sitting on the patio. The kids at the takeout window were super friendly, but for 30.00 for a 4 ounce burger, can of beer, and a hot dog with fries, you can do much better somewhere else. I understand it's on the beach, but with the other responses to people's negative reviews about prices are high due to quality...4 ounce burger for 11.00...c'mon seriously. Never again. I walked in after seeing the online drink menu online and decided to get some drinks for my wife while we were lounging on the beach. The door was WIDE open so I walked in and was told that they were closed. I apologized and let them know that I didn’t realize they were closed then started walking out. As I turned to leave some girl in a tie dyed shirt felt it was necessary to proceed by saying “yeah I can’t have you in here!”. I turned back around and said “my bad, the door was open”. She continued saying something but I was finished with this place at that point so I have no idea what her final words were. Awful way to treat someone who went in to spend money after the establishment had the door open inviting guests to walk in. After telling my wife what happened she checked their hours on Google and it said they close at 9. It was around 4:30pm at the time I went in. As a business owner I’d never treat a customer that way. Went to this place for dinner on our last night, thinking it was just a little grab and go to take it to the beach, or back to hotel to swim...after about 3 hours we still didn't wanna leave. This place was amazing!!! The kids never got to see a live musician and they were having the time of their lives, requesting songs for the guy to sing. The food got brought out to us on the balcony, by some very nice staff. We forgot to get drinks, so the wife and kids went up, and the kids came running back in excitement with these coconuts that had faces carved in them, and they were drink holders for a solo cup. The coconut is a piggy bank when they are finished. Met a local free spirited amazing man who just loves to dance. He was the icing on the cake for sure. He talked with the kids and spoke wisdom, on the way we should all truly go through life. The food we had was delicious btw too. We can't wait till next year...
