Farr Best Theater — Attraction in Mansfield

We really enjoyed this cozy little theater. Due to its size, there really are no bad seats, as far as we could tell. The hosts were friendly and outgoing. I like the fact that they have food and drink concessions. That's something I haven't seen in the several small community theaters that we've attended. The set design for the show we saw (The Mouse Trap) was excellent. The lighting was so- so. The acting performances were a mixed bag, which is typical for small community theater, but enjoyable nonetheless. The lead actress did an exceptional job. Charles Morales has closed down a jewel in the rough because he is a big baby who doesn't want more art coming into Mansfield. He says the city is wanting to put him out of business with The Lot being built, but he closed the theater on his own. It's too bad that he couldn't work WITH the city to make both venues prosper, instead he is at home crying about his driveway on Kimbell street, the theater and the Harrison house being used as storage. What a great, intimate venue to see a musical performance! The owners have done an outstanding job of restoring the nearly 100 year old theater, retaining the original character and excellent acoustics of the structure.
