Definitely not what I was expecting. It was a good time hanging out with family but overall an unremarkable experience. Nowhere near enough pickles and limited entertainment. I will say I didn't show up until just before 3pm and didn't realize it was primarily a morning event. The magic show was pretty cool. I might check it out again in the morning next year. Maybe it'll be a better experience. Everything was pretty much shut down by 6pm. That was kind of disappointing too. I should have paid close attention to the information on the website. I will mention that it was the safest feeling event I've ever been to. It seemed the entire Mansfield police force was there. There were more police officers than patrons (just kidding.) They were very nice to interact with. They also had some cool SWAT type vehicles out there. Fun to look at. Petting zoo was...
Read moreThe weather killed the day pretty quickly, but the fact that the fine folks were still trying makes this a five star. Very inviting, and the locals were fun.
As an aside, the food prices everywhere are getting ridiculous. I did have to pay $15 for a terrible, soggy gyro. That’s not the festival’s fault. The vendors need to clear their heads and reexamine their pricing. ESPECIALLY, the roasted corn stand that advertised elote, then they hand you a half cup of canned corn and expect you to make it yourself. That was truly atrocious. At $7 per cup, that’s really unacceptable. Maybe $3 per cup just because it is festival food. They need to hope that I don’t run into them at another festival with good weather. I am fully ready to give them a talking to, and I’ll be a lot dryer than I was that day.
Great festival, but some vendors were very greedy....
