Joel was extremely unprofessional. It was the worst GameStop experience I have ever had. I walked in and waited for over 10 minutes at the register and Joel didn't even acknowledge I was there. He spent that 10 minutes telling a guy he couldn't accept a limited edition PlayStation because of barely viable scratches and saying that his manager was going to chew him out if he gave him the higher value in trade. The guy said he was going to check with another dude and the Joel just stared out into space, still not even acknowledge a customer waiting.
I asked if I could return a game really quick while the other customer debated. I handed him the new game I purchased 2 days prior, had a reciept and he told me that it wasn't in the "sleeve" which it never was, it was the last on the shelf and the GameStop employee never put a "sleeve" on it. He started to peel the new sticker off of it and I asked him not too, since the sticker was proof that it was new. He rolled his eyes told me he could only do trade. He said it was store policy, which is fine but no one ever put a sleeve on it, so I explained that and asked if I could speak to his manager. Obviously it needed manager approval since it might be going against policy. He then claimed to be the manager to which I responded "but you just told that guy your manager was going to chew you out if you traded that playstation for the better value." He threw the game on the counter and said if that's how it's going to be then leave. So I asked for his name and left.
Don't go to the Cortaro Game Stop. It has terrible customer service. This isn't the first time I've had bad service there, but never so bad that I felt the need to give a bad review or talk to a manager. Between ignoring customers, rolling eyes, throwing games and lieing about being a manager (or not being one to give worse trade values. Not sure which one he lied about)... It isn't worth it. Just take the extra time to go to the GameStop by the foothills mall instead. They are much nicer there and at least say I'll be right with you when you stand at the counter.
Joel (which might not be his actual name since he seemed pretty comfy lieing) he was the only one I saw working on 8/14/22 at around 6pm. On the taller and thinner side, with dark hair....
Read moreYou run a renewal scam and make it impossible for people to opt out and get their money back.
I called more than half a dozen times yesterday and visited two stores and both said they did not have the power to discontinue the yearly and both directed me to customer service phone which said each time to reserve your place in line without an option to wait; absolutely ridiculous that it should be this hard, the second store said he wasn't surprised because you auto enroll and no one told us it would renew and there was no notice of renewal coming up for us to address before you charged, beyond shifty and scandalous but rest assured if you will make this right and your disrespect will not be tolerated, this is not how you treat customers who spend hundreds and then lose them over less than 30 dollars, your company and process...
Read moreHave some respect for people waiting in line! It's great that you're willing to spend extra time with customers, but do it when the store isn't crowded. If there are five people waiting in line for two cashiers, I'd really appreciate it if you didn't spend 3-5 minutes convincing a mom and her 12 year old son that they need some $4 add-on and a poster. You just lost a $60 sale because you needed to sell someone a $1 used X-box 360 game. Please management, train your cashiers to have a general awareness of people waiting in line and adjust their sales tactics...
