Wanted to love it but disappointed. Came on a Friday evening. Girl at the bar was very nice and helpful! But that was about all that was great for me. Ordered baked brie and was served a warmed up brie block with 5 skinny slices of apple and 5 slices of bread, on a paper plate (not even nice paper plates). It was not baked brie (pastry crust??) and if I am ordering a $12 app I would hope for a better presentation. Was charged $14 for the app tho the menu stated $12. While the atmosphere of oriental rugs, wood tones, and fancy couches gave one vibe (wine cafe), the music and the dress and appearance of the staff gave a completely different vibe (biker bar). Don’t think we’ll be back.

Matthews wine cellar was a recommendation of a family member. We went there on a Saturday afternoon, just as the band was setting up for their show later on. No, we didn't get to listen except for a song and they sounded good! As for the shop. Great people, great location, clean and comfortable setting, great service. The food menu is limited but well balanced and well prepared. The wine bar is very good. Better if you go by the bottle, more choices than by the glass. Ample parking, prices are mid level, depending on which wine you choosešŸ˜‰. Week with the visit, great conversation place.

Thank you to the owners for being so kind & helpful last night. We had a big group & a lot going on. They were so incredibly accommodating & made the night perfect. (Although we have been a few times & they are amazing every time.) The wine selection is spot on. I highly recommend the charcuterie & the figgy figgy, but everything looked just as delicious! You can select a bottle of wine or beers, peruse the books & just relax for the evening. A Matthews Must!

Fantastic wine and food in downtown Matthews!! The new experience at the expanded wine bar includes homemade delightful menu items like my Spanish serrano ham sandwich that was delicious! It had manchego cheese, olive tapenade and spinach and it was wonderful!! My friend had a chef salad and loved the fresh vegetables. And we shared the potato salad side plenty for two. We shared a very reasonable wine, Sauvignon blanc for $13. They also have Pasta and Provisions food in the freezer. And Sammies ice cream from Asheville which is my next trip treat!! Great food! Lovely patio and food options for wine and beer lovers!! Parking is in the lot nearby or walking from the Matthews...

Would give 10 stars if it was an option. My fiancĆ© and I were new to the area and this crowd welcomed us with open arms. Think that old school tv show Cheers but with much better food and wine. I just want to stay even after I’ve had enough to drink. The owners put special attention into menu selections for the beer, wine, and food. It’s a place where you want to stay for a bottle of wine, or two, and don’t pass up the meat and cheese options. The soups looked pretty good too. We ,can’t wait to come back for chocolate and wine pairing night next month. Prices are reasonable too, which is always a plus in these days...
