Kristophers Sports Bar — Restaurant in Matthews

I have not had one bad experience at Kristophers. The food is great. I’m partial to the hot Speedway Grinder or their Olympic Sampler but they have a lot on their decently priced menu. To top that off they have specials every day of the week on some of their more popular items. Check out the wings or their pizzas! The bar is good stop to satiate your thirst as well. With 20+ taps you will likely find something to your tastes. If not, they also have a canned and bottled selection. The $2 draft PBR pints everyday of the week is where it’s at though. Service is usually fast, always friendly and the food is delivered fairly quickly. They have music trivia, biker night, and all sorts of events going on. Also, TV’s everywhere. You can watch any number of games across all sports. The staff have zero problems moving a tv over to a game for you. A few words of warning though, on nights and weekends, this place gets BUSY. Expect a delay in service. And parking can often be difficult. You may have to walk just a little bit of downtown Matthews. Aside from that, 5...

We waited over an hour for a table for six people (it was way too hot to eat outside and we had a child in our party so we couldn’t sit at the bar) - there were plenty of empty, adjacent tables that could’ve been pushed together but instead we waited for a group to leave the one large table they had. The service was terrible, our disagreeable waitress quite literally threw our food at us and slid things across the table. I will say that she was good about refilling our drinks, which was a positive thing. Waited another 45 minutes for our food, which was greasy and tasted bad (not one of the six of us liked our food). I got a taco salad and the “taco” meat was sweet..I probably only ate 1/3 of it and couldn’t eat any more, it was so bad. Overall horrible experience, I would never choose to go back or recommend it to others. Too bad, I was looking forward to it and we spent quite a bit on our food considering everything about the food...

My girlfriend and I had our first visit to Kristophers Sports Bar for an early dinner on a Monday, and it definitely won’t be our last! The atmosphere was laid-back and not too crowded, which made for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.

We started by sharing the Hot-Honey wings — they were outstanding. Perfectly cooked, great flavor had a nice crisp to them. For our mains, my girlfriend had the chicken salad sandwich with a side of potato salad. She couldn’t stop talking about how good the potato salad was — definitely a standout! I had the Roman Club and chips, and it was amazing — packed with flavor and generously portioned.

The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish. We’re already looking forward to coming back!
