Let me start by letting you know that you will have a wait a very long time to get seated and that choice will have to be made by you. If you don't want to wait long order take out and eat your food at a beach somewhere. Restaurant only has 7 to 8 tables at a time. It's small but the food is good and relatively cheaper than anywhere else in the island. We arrived at 7:45am knowing we would have to wait sometime. We got seated at 8:30am. We ordered food right away since we had time to take a look at the menu. Food arrived at 9:30am. We were done eating by 10:00am. You have to keep in mind that this is a privately owned establishment with minimal staff and seating which will lead to longer wait times.
Parking. Before I headed out I noted some reviews stating people getting cited for parking violations. I played it safe and moved the rental car from spot to spot but I didn't see any parking police activity while I was there. I also saw people parking where it clearly said not to park and nothing happened to them. If I were you park where it clearly says 1 hour parking and move your car around. Option 2 would be find paid parking on front street if you want peace of mind.
The food was great! I've never had anything like the breakfast burrito which isn't like your tradition burrito. It doesn't have a tortilla instead it's an egg blanket on top of rice topped with a special sauce that apparently you can get on the side if you ask. Macadamia pancakes were great as well. The macadamia glaze also had a very distinctive taste which followed me back home. I went to various breakfast spots on the island and without a doubt 808 was the one that left the biggest impression.
TLDR: Long wait to be seated. Order to go instead. Order breakfast burrito sauce on the side. Try macadamia pancakes. Park in 1 hour parking...
Read moreThis little food truck is amazing! Looking through the reviews, you might be confused as to whether this is a quaint cafe or a foodtruck. Currently, it's the latter due to the devastating fires in 2023. That hasn't stopped this crew. You can tell the love and aloha is just pouring out of these fantastic owners and chefs. By far one of our best culinary experiences during our 8 day visit. The staff was warm, welcoming, and charming, truly full of the genuine meaning of aloha. The food was marvelous. I had two different Benedicts (the crab cakes and the crab bene as they were out of the fresh catch of the day). My husband stayed tried and true with the Kawabanga. Our little guy had plain pancakes with coconut sauce. If we had more time to visit, I heard rave reviews of the macnut pancakes with their macnilla sauce but I'm personally a savory breakfast type. My husband said the coffee was amazing (he's quite picky about it) only tiny let down was they only had coffee mate which is totally understandable given their limited space. We truly hope this place can get back into a permanent home if that's what they want. While enjoying our meal, you could tell locals and tourists alike felt at home here. I look forward to the day I can return for breakfast or lunch and feel the love and aloha through...
Read moreAs you can see from many other reviews the wait is very long. The restaurant seats only about 25 people. My wife and I were really excited to eat here because we love Eggs Benedict and they have an entire menu devoted to it. We came on a sunday the first time and bailed because it was well over an hour wait. We decided to go to another cafe and absolutely loved it! I wont say the name of it because I dont want this to be about stealing business. We came back on a Tuesday and the line was still long but we decided to wait, because why not? We waited for 1.5 hours before we were sat. Then we waited another hour to be served our meals. At this point I was starved so I ordered my benedict and a waffle to fill the void. I had the avocado benedict and my wife had the crab cake benedict. Mine was okay and my wife liked hers. However the coconut waffle with Macadamia Vanilla sauce was out of this world good! I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately our experience was spoiled not just by the wait but by the over zealous waiter who was constantly flirting with a table of women and proceeded to sit down and eat at their table. The rest of the staff was okay. Kind enough but obviously in a hurry to get us out to seat the next in line. I wouldn't go again unless it was slow. The waffle was too good to...
