Maui Seasons — Local services in Maui

My family has a timeshare, and got a great concierge deal for a Maui Seasons tour. This particular tour was an all day affair, going from 9am to about 6pm, but it seems they have different packages available.

We were picked up by the very friendly Katrice in a large SUV dubbed Bertha, which has Wi-Fi, a phone charging dock, and a cooler of snacks and drinks for convenience.

Katrice made sure we got a lot packed into the day! There were many highlights:

-A stop in Kula Botanical Gardens where we got to check out the market and feed friendly ducks.

-A short, fun and informative tour of Ocean Vodka Organic Farm and Distillery, where we got to sample different spirits and enjoyed a tasty lunch.

-A short tour of Surfing Goat Dairy, where we got to feed and pet the herd (including baby goats! Check their site for breeding season) and learned about the milking process.

-A stop at Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop, where we bought too many delicious mini pies. Katrice went above and beyond to ensure our pies were packed in a cold cooler, so thank you!!

-Finally, an hour and a half private whale watching tour with UFO Parasail, where our party of 4 got to enjoy an up close view of a Mama humpback and her calf. The captain was also very understanding and accommodating when half of our party got seasick, so shout out to them as well.

We toured with Maui Season in mid February 2022 and had an amazing experience. This company provides personal tours with just the guide and the members of your party. We took an all day up country/whale watch tour with Larry as our tour guide. Larry picked us up promptly at 9am and took us to breakfast at Java Jazz (very eclectic vibe with good, but not amazing, food). Next we drove to various sites around the island. Our guide obviously had memorized a lot of information about Maui, but since we've traveled here many times and had learned a lot about the island and overall history of Hawaii his information was somewhat wasted on us. So, instead he went off script and we all relaxed and just talked about all sorts of things while touring. Next we stopped at Makai glass blowers. What beautiful art with incredible talent! Normally we would have next gone to a goat cheese farm but it was closed on the day we were touring. After driving through up country a bit more we stopped to tour at the Ocean Vodka distillery. What a beautiful property and tasty spirits to sample! We didn't eat there, but the on site restaurant looked very good too. We continued on to lunch at Marco's in Kahului (very good food with large portions - we brought back leftovers to eat later). We had some time to kill so we took a drive up Iao Valley. First I want to say that Andrea is a warm, genuinely caring person. You can feel it from the moment you are greeted, and I pride myself on being able to read people (important as a nurse). The stop at Marco’s for breakfast was delicious, the staff very attentive, and someplace we would not have even noticed on our own, so she helped us find a jewel of a place to dine! :) Andrea’s true love for her job and the joy she derives from meeting new people and hearing their stories, is apparent in her attentiveness and the stories we then get to hear of her life and any commonalities. We very much enjoyed our day with her, and she took us to a couple of places we have not seen on our many trips on the road to Hana, and that wasn’t easy since we have been here so many times! 😂 Shared some great information of restaurants we might want to visit, from great happy hour menu restaurant’s to great sunset dinner restaurants. Andrea, I felt we met as strangers, but if I lived in Maui, I felt like we would have become lifelong friends! To her 3 “bosses”, everything she shared about each of you was positive and with a sense of gratitude you rarely hear from employees in todays climate! I hope you realize the true gem you have and appreciate her walking testimonials of your company!
