Aloha Braised (food truck) — Restaurant in Maui

Was closed first time we went, as we didn’t realize it was only open for lunch on certain days. Tried a second time and so glad we did as it was probably the best food truck we sampled on our trip. The grilled fish salad and hurricane chicken were definitely on a different level compared to other food trucks. The fish salad had a generous portion of capers in the citrus sauce/vinaigrette and the aioli sauce for the hurricane chicken was delicious. We also had a small portion of pork belly which was served with an interesting side salad of basil leaves and red onion; it was the perfect accompaniment to cut the fat. Volcano Chicken is flavorful, crispy but minimal batter so you taste the chicken. It was amazing fresh but the leftovers had me craving more. The Mac Salad is delicious! idk I think there’s a tiny bit of curry power or a secret spice that adds a depth you don’t get at most plate lunch spots. The NY Steak plate is cooked to order(rare to well done) & the sautéed mushrooms & onions are on point with the sauce. My favorite part of the Local Trio is the Pork Belly which is tossed with greens & shaved onion w just a hint of an acidic dressing to cut the crispy fat of the pork. So good! This is the ONLY option for great local Hawaiian food. If you go to the fancy restaurant and pay $50 for some pork belly it won't be as good as this. For the perfect price you can get all of the Hawaiian favorites from moochi chicken, loco moco and everything in-between.

Food always tastes fresh and delish.

Make a stop in here to grab some lunch. Great options and taste. The portions are large so if you go hungry you should be okay with one meal. They have a few healthier options as well.
