If there a negative rating for H&D I would give it to them. I ordered a Holiday Wine Box (Product Number: 30781X) Dec 10, for Christmas holidays. We saw product was shipped through Fedex but it was sitting in a warehouse and not delivered, because the apartment number provided to H&D was missing from the address label. After multiple calls, H&D customer service promised replacement was shipped to correct address and would arrive by Dec 24. We followed back Dec 26 and yes there was no track of any replacement order, we requested refund and were told it would be 10 business days. We followed up Jan 2 and 4 both times, there were no record of refund to my account at H&D side and "new" request for refund was processed ( no confirmation Number was provided). On Jan 16, I followed up again and the customer service this time on online chat have me 1 800 Flowers phone number for billing. When I called this number, they said H&D had a separate division and she was transferring my call to them and 20 mins later no one was available to pick up the call. I wrote a nasty review about the phone call survey and someone reached out Jan 18, except after hearing everything they put me on hold. Bottomline, the resolution was wait another 10 days to see if they refunded, or call back again and start the story again with a new agent! These people of Jim McCann CEO/1800 Flowers are lying. Horrible experience, so stay away from this company simply because they are no super heroes and have zero...
Read moreTerrible service & repeated delays and miscommunication. I placed an order on 4/24 that was expected to be delivered by 5/1. On 5/1 I'm called like 10 times while on a flight to let me know that it wasn't available and to pick something else. I ordered a custom gift and the options they proposed were not on par in terms of quality or aesthetic. The next day I receive an email saying what I originally ordered was available but just delayed. I agree that the 3 day delay is fine. I then receive another email saying they misspoke and it was already shipped. Great. The next morning, 10 more calls and voicemail asking me to pick something else. I email them because I'm not available to chat and get tons of apologies and no resolution. I ask to confirm that my order has been shipped and ask for tracking info. They say it'll be automatically sent when it leaves the facility. Later that day, I receive another email from another person saying it was unavailable and wouldn't be shipped. I ask if they can check because I'd gotten an email earlier saying it was shipped. No response. Today I receive a call saying the item is ok back order. I just canceled the order and asked for a refund. This place is a mess. The poor communication and continued delays is appalling. Don't have something available to order if it's not actually available. Don't say something has shipped if you can't provide tracking. And don't have your people calling a customer repeatedly when they don't answer...
Read moreTheir $70 Bonsai Gardenia: 4-star rating given because customer service is very helpful and responsive. The gardenia itself has a lower rating because of the root condition and the container it is planted in. The container is high quality & beautiful, but the kiln-fired ceramic does not breathe the way terracotta does and it keeps the dense planting soil soggy - causing root rot. So, after you remove the well-packed gardenia from the shipping box, you should pull the plant out of the pot and you will notice that it was likely root-bound when transferred from the florist to the pot. You will need to use a pick or fork to pull the roots straight out to unwind them from the circumference and pull the roots down from the base of the root ball. Then remove the remaining impacted soil from the container and crumble and mix it. Place the root ball in a terracotta container for root health or back into the beautiful but poorly ventilated ceramic container and spread the soil mix under and around the root ball. You will have to be very careful not to overwater the gardenia if you place it back in the ceramic container provided by Harry & David. This soil near the base of this pot will likely remain soggy depending on...
