This is honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had staying at a Marriott property as a titanium elite member. I do long-term stays with my partner for his work and we’ve stayed at dozens of different properties throughout the years. I worked at a Marriott property myself for over a year so I know that this property just isn’t up to standard. I have a lot of complaints, and i honestly just feel too frustrated to explain in one big essay so I’ll just list a handful of them off
Mail: if you get mail, don’t expect to receive it for multiple days because the hotel rarely check their mailbox even after specifically requesting that they check their mailbox for your mail. I went three days without receiving my mail because they just hadn’t checked their mailbox after coming multiple days in a row and being understanding. Bedding: the bedding is very cheap, and you can’t go one night without the sheets, completely peeling off the corners of the bed. This is so frustrating because you will have to fix the sheets any time you slightly move on the bed. Cookware: the pots and pans will always burn, no matter how good a cook you are. Everything sticks to the bottom even when you put oil in the pans, and they don’t even provide your room sponges to scrub it off. I’ve had to ask the front desk multiple times for sponges only for them to not have any. Thin Walls: expect to hear everything around you, anytime anyone moves next to you. You’ll hear every single thing that they’re doing. And don’t expect to get a good nights rests either, because you can hear all of the cars through the windows, whether they are closed or not, and this hotel is right next to a crossroad. The Internet: the Internet will disconnect you almost every two hours, especially on computers. I’ve lost all my progress on my work multiple times because it disconnects me from the wifi constantly. It is so frustrating and there is nothing you can do about it unless you buy your own personal wifi router Unaccurate A/C Units: I don’t know if all of the AC units are broken, but we’ve stayed in multiple different rooms and every time the air conditioning has been super inaccurate. When you put it at 70° it feels like it is 59° in the room, but when you said it at 75°. It feels like it’s 80° in the room. And there is no in between or sweet spot. I’ve had to relent to just wearing a sweater inside my room at all times because I’d rather be freezing cold than sweating hot. Housekeeping: (the final straw for me to write this review today) I’ve been staying here for multiple months now and I’ve never had a problem with going 2+ weeks without receiving housekeeping until today. I was scheduled housekeeping on Tuesday, and recieved my service. This morning, housekeeping knocked and I let them know I did not want to be serviced today. Then, I received a call from front desk informing me that I cannot reschedule housekeeping and they need to service it today so I had to leave my room so that housekeeping could service it. I spoke to the front desk and they said it’s because they can’t go 7+ days without housekeeping… when I was serviced less than 3 days ago. I’ve worked at a Marriott property (Residence Inn) for over a year and I’ve never had to force a guest to receive housekeeping before, so having to get out of my room for this reason felt like a lazy excuse. I am in no way blaming the staff, but it just feels like I could’ve been accommodated better especially as a titanium elite member and could have received some warning about this prior, as the front desk is aware that me and my partner both work night shifts so we sleep during the day. Overall, I’ve just had a super unpleasant experience at this property and it’s absolutely below Marriott standard in my personal opinion and my experience staying here as a titanium...
Read moreDid not disclose at time of booking that the pool would not be available during our stay. We were in town for an annual basketball game and once the front desk found out, I was forced to sign a behavior form in order to stay even though none of the rest of my daughters team stayed there. The queen suite we booked was clean, but small. The sofa bed ran into the queen bed when unfolded and prevented you from being able to walk through. You had to climb on top of the beds to get to the other side of the room. The breakfast was not well stocked due to how booked and busy they were, but the older lady refilling it was annoyed and snippy when asked questions or spoken to. The entire staff was in a horrible mood and treated everyone poorly that weekend. Not once did I speak up and complain to anyone there. There was no need to because everyone else was complaining and being told the same things. One man asked for a refund and said he would not be staying there and he was told by the lady behind the desk that he could not get a refund. He was upset about the pool. He asked for management and she smirked and said they were out all weekend. Honestly, I chose not to be in the hotel very much during our stay, but the guests were all well behaved from what I saw. Nobody was running up and down the halls and it wasn't a loud place to be, yet the entire staff was overwhelmed and rude the whole weekend. I felt as if we were being judged and shamed for being a part of a traveling sports team. I understand that there may have been issues in the past with different teams... but there was no need to have such negative attitudes and treat everyone as if they're nothing but trouble. Last year we stayed at the Spring Hills Suites (sister hotel) right next door and never had a problem during the tournament weekend. Everyone at the Spring Hill was extremely nice and respectful to everyone. They even asked the girls how their games were going. My suggestion is to book at the SpringHill or a different hotel when looking for a place to stay in Medford. The rooms are nicer and people...
Read moreThis is our second stay here in a week since we're trekking back home. This hotel is a transient hotel since this is not the final stop for most folks. During our second stay we had a kids baseball team that stayed here and they were all loud.
When we arrived we requested to change rooms twice. The first room was directly above the pool and I could hear the baseball team talking very clearly. It also had a funky odor. The second room smelled liked someone had been cooking steak and the odor was very pungent. The third room was the winner and I couldnt hear the pool party nor did it have an odor.
While the third room was the winner I would note that it's time to start investing in the room as it's starting to date itself. It's missing the USB chargers that all of the Marriotts have, the TV is older than 8 years old, and the mattress and pull out sofa need to be retired as well. We were falling into the middle of the bed. My neice slept on the pull out sofa bed and all she felt were the springs.
They have a decent gym and I loved the fact that they supplied free new earbuds. I also enjoyed the fact that they provided complimentary breakfast. If I was going to make an adjustment to the breakfast I would change out the eggs that don't look appetizing and also provide more fresh fruit options. If they made those adjustments it would feel more consistent to our normal experience at other Marriotts.
Lastly, I wanted to talk about service. The front desk clerk that checked us in wasn't very empathetic to how discomforted we were to our room. When she told me that they had other rooms I had to be assertive in order for her to let me check them out. Where she lacked in customer service skills Kyle and Lori definitely made it up. I had WiFi issues in the evening and as soon as Kyle found out he came to our room and gladly supported us. When we were checking out I told Lori of our experience and she was very empathetic. She offered to give us some reward points back for the discomfort. Because of Lori and Kyle I gave...
