Have stayed here 5 different nights, different seasons. Each stay has been refreshingly quiet, my primary issue with hotel rooms. Unlike this hotel, few hotels are well built these days (cheap windows especially), and noise is the result. The Garden Inn window light blocking system is first rate: 2X layers of opaque covering that can be raised/lowered. Staff is friendly and helpful. Brandi at front desk has been extremely nice and helpful, noting our room preferences before we arrive and addressing our requests or finding equivalences. The staff is sincerely cheerful and clearly the management has established a healthy atmosphere.
Nitpicks: Shower floor is slippery for first 5 minutes while the cleaner washes off (no nonskid mat alternative, use the railing). There is an absence of seating in elevator area, and elevators are slow. The sliding 'barndoor' door for the bathroom looks modern and trendy, but doesn't seal off the bathroom as well as a conventional door. The sales rap, disguised as a brief survey at the end of telephone booking, is obnoxious - I just preempt with a 'thank you' and hang up.
But good beds, pillows, fixtures, cleanliness and the staff is superb. Did I mention it was quiet? And adjacent to I-5 at that!
Rates vary greatly depending upon how far in advance you book which is common throughout the travel industry, but it can appear predatory, opportunistic verging on gouging. In a few cases they make allowances for unplanned medical procedures but prices can vary more than 100% based on how far in advance you book and how full they are.
Having traveled for a large international airline for many years, we're quite picky about hotels (there are large hotels where we may well have stayed in virtually every room). This hotel exceeds many of the top rated hotels found in major cities throughout the world, even if the room layout itself is standard. Of course, no hotel can totally shield you from obnoxious, loud guests and a frustrating experience, but the Garden Inn seems to draw many sedate business travelers and we have yet to have a negative experience. We haven't tried the pool and hot-tub, but enjoyed the lobby bar.
Forget the slightly cheaper chains in the area and treat yourself to a night at the Hilton Garden Inn. You'll have a hard time finding a better value along most of the...
Read moreIn my 33 years, I have never experienced such unprofessional and rude customer service at a hotel. I arrived after a long flight with three small children and a large amount of luggage, expecting a smooth check-in experienceâespecially as a loyal Hilton Honors member who frequently stays at Hilton properties worldwide.
Upon arrival, I explained to the front desk staff that I wasnât able to complete check-in through the Hilton app. The staff member abruptly told me that app check-in ânever works,â which is simply not true. Iâve consistently used the Hilton app to check in, choose my room, and verify my ID through the ID.me feature without issue at other locations. Instead of assisting me, she rudely demanded physical ID and acted as if I had done something wrong.
I also specifically selected a room next to my parents when checking in through the appâthis was a major reason for booking this hotel in the first place. However, I was given a room on an entirely different floor, and when I politely explained the situation, I was again met with unnecessary attitude and zero willingness to help.
Unfortunately, this lack of professionalism continued throughout our stay. When I requested housekeeping, I was told they âmay have left for the day.â I asked if someone could check, just in case, and the front desk employee responded harshly, raising her voice and saying they had leftâcompletely contradicting her earlier statement. I was left feeling confused and uncomfortable, unsure whether I was allowed to ask for basic services without being snapped at.
I also attempted to use the Hilton appâs chat feature for room service and general inquiries, but this location does not appear to monitor or use it. It was frustrating to receive no responses through what is typically a convenient and reliable feature.
To be fair, the room itself was clean and comfortable, and we appreciated the laundry facilities during our extended trip. However, the consistently poor attitude and lack of customer service from the front desk staff completely overshadowed the positive aspects. I felt unwelcome and disrespected during my entire stay.
Sadly, I would not return to this property and cannot recommend it to others. I truly regret not leaving immediately after the initial encounter...
Read moreWOW! This hotel is a sparkling gem and so are the people who work there. We live 4 hours away and my mother had to be air lifted to Rogue Regional Medical Center for a health emergency. My husband and I had my Dad with us and needed two rooms on short notice. After arriving at the hospital, I googled hotels close to the hospital. This was the first one on the list. At $139, the price was better than many of them which were closer to $200 per night. Entering the lobby was an experience in itself. Attractive dĂ©cor and furnishing create a welcoming lounge area where guests can gather and socialize. Coffee, tea and infused waters with homemade cookies are available just to name a bit of what I saw. There is even a bar there for those desiring cocktails and a shop to buy snacks, beverages or toiletries. Every single staff person regardless of their function or department was extremely welcoming and bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we might need to make our stay comfortable such as extra coffee pods, bottled water and extra towels. One of the hotel desk clerks asked about my mother every time she saw me and told me she was praying for her. We were absolutely spoiled in the restaurant. When the waitress came back to inform us that something we all ordered from the menu wasnât available, she felt so badly she offered us free dessert. The accommodations were far superior to any weâve seen lately and weâve been in several hotels so far this year for various kinds of trips, business, pleasure and now this oneâa family emergency. The bed was extremely comfortable, the dĂ©cor was sleek and contemporary from the art to the light fixtures. The bathroom had a beautiful glass shower, open vanity with a barn style frosted glass door. They thought of just about everything in these rooms. Even the peep hole in the door had hinged spy-proof covers over them. I wish my Mom could have enjoyed this hotel with us. We will definitely be back. Iâd even recommend this for a date weekend or a stop along the way on a honeymoon. It...
