Gold & Diamond International — Attraction in Memphis

When I worked retail in college, a customer of mine told me about "this place in Memphis" who had the "best prices," but described the shop as being a bit out of character. Well, he was exactly right. Since they don't have an upscale showroom in an overpriced rent retail space and billboards all over town, you quickly realize how big a difference not having a ton of excess overhead makes. You probably aren't going to find a better deal without being the one to go mine the materials and make the jewelry yourself! Rob and Mike do a wonderful job ensuring you get exactly what you want at an unbeatable price. If you want a glass of champagne served with your purchase and the shop to look more like an art gallery, then this isn't your place. Go pay a premium for that experience elsewhere. If you look at their products, it's the same or better than what you find at any of those sort of establishments, and you'd pay likely AT LEAST 40% more for the same thing at those places versus here. My fiancé's custom engagement ring turned out perfect! For a similar ring locally, the store's best price was still 20% more than I bought it from GDI, and that store's had a lower carat gold with stones that were yellow, cloudy, and unfavorably rated. I have to imagine if I got the same store to make me what GDI did, I wouldn't have been surprised if it was well over 50% higher--if not double. I had a slight issue on the sizing, and they quickly worked to satisfactorily resolve it with great communication. Needless to say, I've come back to order a wedding band for half the price that I could find it around my area. I recommend them to anyone looking for not only the best price, but a quality piece that you can expect to last a lifetime. If you want your money to go the furthest, GDI is the place to go to! Bar none, this place has the best prices for gold jewelry. They don't spend a lot of cash on advertisements or a fancy storefront, and they pass those savings on to the customer. As others have said, if you're looking for a boutique experience, this isn't the place for you. But if you're in the market for gorgeous, high quality gold jewelry and you don't want to break the bank, look no further. I've bought several pieces here and I plan to buy many more in the future. While this is a popular spot to get bespoke engagement rings (and that does seem to be their bread and butter), they also have a wonderful selection of gold chains, pendants, bracelets, and fashion rings. If you don't see something you like, Mike can custom order anything you want. Couple tips: You will need an appointment to enter the store. This keeps store traffic manageable and helps with security (which I appreciate, since many jewelry stores in the area have had issues with robbery and the extra security makes me feel safe while shopping) but the website appointment-maker can be finicky. Call or email the store for an easier process. I also recommend doing your research before you show up. Know exactly what you want so that you can ask for it directly. The staff are often very busy, so if you need to be shown many different options, you might end up hanging around for a while. Finally, your experience will vary based on who helps you. I love Gold and Diamond International! My husband and I choose to buy all of our jewelry from them. They have great/fair prices and friendly, intelligent and very knowledgeable staff that know their stuff about diamonds, all precious stones and all types of gold. I know that you are getting quality jewelry at wholesale prices, this is because they don’t use advertising like many other jewelry stores all tend to do! It’s hard to believe that people actually fall for those stupid, cheesy commercials that are intended to lure people in but end up costing the consumer.
