Went to the Jingle Jam, 1st time. It was great. It was one big party. U could tell most had been preparing/waiting all year for this event. From dressy casual to leather, sequins & smoking jackets. From dresses, to shorts, jump suits & guys in fur jackets. Live music, J Buck was great, every song he sanged was great. Y'all I had to go on up to the stage. Wanted to sing with him but I just cheered him on. 🥳👏 He was so good they should have paid him to do both sets since he went back to help with the 2nd set. Also had a DJ. Nice size dance floor and u already know you'll dance at ur table if that's what you feel like doing. Bars everywhere!!! Pulled pork, nachos, I believe they had hot dogs, not sure, whaaaaat no wings WTH? 🤪 but anyway it was a lot of fun. Clean up crew comes around to keep the tables clear, cool. There was a lil setup before going in where u could take pics & a professional photographer as well. It was like some "Red Carpet" action. Parking in the garage & getting out right at the door was great. Greeters welcoming u in at the door. Started @ 9pm. Mature crowd was the icing on the cake. Appeared to be mostly late 30s, early 40s n up. It was great...
Read moreThis place is like a maze. Parking on each level but easy to get lost and the parking on the last floor down is scary .if you do not remember where you parked you can get confused. The owners of this building made this a death trap if you are caught in this place in a earth quake or bad storm. If this building collapse people will be trapped underground . At this function there was a lot of elderly and disabled people. To get to parking there was one elevator working for.the wheel chairs on one side and the one on other side was not in use . Afraid of this place. It was over a 1000+ people for 3days. and the line to get on and off elevators was over hour wait. There was wheel chairs, walkers and people with ķanes. The center showed no respect. For the elderly safety if something had happened. They should refund money or provide more elevators..shame on...
Read moreI was there for the Regional Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses Sept 1-3, and the completed renovations really brought this place back to life. My mother and aunt worked here many, many years ago when it was called Cook Convention Center. I remember my little brother crawling around on the antiquated carpeting and I am struck with acute nostalgia recalling the decor from the late 80's and early 90's. Undeniably, the newly remodeled building is nothing like the original. On the walls are drawings from the children at St. Jude Cancer Research Hospital with their stories included which is very endearing. The river views are breath-taking. The additions of the murals displayed on the glass facing Main Street are a great depiction of the past and the future. It is lofty and grand. A great place to hold special events....
