One year follow up: Bassett never changed their stance that the "couch meets manufacturer specs". We continue to have an $11,000.00 couch where the back reclines at an angle that has you leaning outwards towards the right armrest. Also, the stuffing in the backrest is so poor that we have to use throw pillows just to avoid having the wooden frame dig into our backs. (Pictures attached).
I think it's shameful that Bassett would essentially tell us, "Too bad."
We've spent $20,000.00 with these guys in the last two years, and it's unconscionable that we have this giant lemon in our living room.
This is not how a reputable business should treat their customers!

Original review: We had previously purchased a bedroom set (headboard, bed, dresser, night stands) from Bassett, and it is solid and high quality.
Recently, we moved to a new home and decided that our perfectly good living room furniture needed to be "lightened up" in terms of color. We decided that since we got quality bedroom furniture from Bassett, we should spend the extra $$ for a new sectional.
$11,000.00 later, we have a sectional that's been taken back to the shop twice, and is still not a high quality sectional ( In the three months since we took delivery, they've been to our home and disrupted our lives 6 times, not counting the original delivery). Still, the back sides don't align correctly, and the right side recliner reclines at an angle that causes you to have to lean outwards towards the armrest. The mechanicals creak and clank, the pieces don't connect tightly, the two recliners we have next to one another, hit each other when reclining. Plus, when I recline, the frame pushes into my back... Not to mention that when we received the pieces, multiple sections were stuffed erratically, causing some cushions to be very firm and others to be so soft as to sink down and feel the support structure.
Of course, the floor model at Bassett didn't exhibit any of these issues... Isn't that called "bait and switch?
I will add that the service team had been polite and had been helpful, the two times they've taken the pieces back to be repaired. Unfortunately, they haven't fixed this $11,000.00 lemon, and when they brought it back last week, they stated that it "meets the manufacturers specifications".
So, it would seem that Bassett has a sectional manufacturer, that specifies that their product pieces should not align to each other, and that the recliners should recline at an uncomfortable angle!
Bravo Bassett... Count me out for future purchases, and you can be assured that we will let our friends and family know that they would be better taking their hard earned dollars elsewhere!
ps. Never hide behind "It meets manufacturer specs", when one can plainly see that we have an $11,000.00 sectional that remains out of alignment and uncomfortable!
Shame on you for having your $15 an hour delivery guys make statements about the product specs and obvious poor quality!
If you truly intend to remain a business that deserves an outstanding reputation. you would take the manufacturer behind the woodshed for a good spanking, and get this POS replaced with a complete unit that is aligned correctly, works correctly, looks beautiful, and above else, is comfortable.
I am sorely disappointed that you've chosen the route of "It meets specs", vs. doing the right thing. Your supplier is pushing out an inferior product, and you are selling it at premium prices. I believe that is a recipe for disgruntled customers!
If we're the only ones that have been taken down this road, bad luck for us, but even if it's just us, we are not your "silent minority"... We couldn't count on you, but you can count on...

I purchased a bedroom set from Bassett a few months ago for my son. I only ordered one night stand because I didn’t think two would fit in the space. I visited him this weekend and realized that was a mistake and not only would a second night stand fit, but the room would look unfinished without it. Unfortunately, when I went to order I was told that this line was not only completely sold out, but discontinued. I called store after store and was told it was impossible and there was nothing they could do to help me. I was beyond disappointed! I had a beautiful bedroom set minus one night stand and absolutely no hope of getting one. But then I had the great fortune of talking to Chancelor . Beyond all odds, he found a matching nightstand, which in and of itself was incredible customer service, but then he did something that exceeded all expectation. I do not live in Idaho, but since this is quite literally the last matching nightstand left in the United States I told Chancelor was willing drive to Idaho to pick it up. He asked where I lived. When I told him he said his wife was going to be driving my way in a few weeks and offered to not only send the nightstand with her, but to do it without a delivery charge. There is excellent customer service and then there is Chancelor! Bassett furniture, I hope you recognize and appreciate how fortunate you are to have such an amazing associate representing your company. He is one in a million. If I ran a company I would make every attempt to steal him away from you:) You can see why five stars just...
Read moreAll I have to say about the customer service at this store is WOW, SO AMAZING!! My husband and are I about to move into our dream home and we visited this store to check out couches a few weeks ago, but weren't ready to purchase yet. Renee helped us and she was so nice, wasn't pushy at all, and also took time to build us the perfect size and fit for our new living room on the computer so that we could take the design home and see if it would work. Fast forward a few weeks, we went back in because we were ready to purchase and had to make some adjustments because of sizing. Renee adjusted it and put it all together and we ordered it. Great experience! The next day, I realized we hadn't received an email with a tracking number or anything so I just called the store out of curiosity of how we'd be getting updates. This time I spoke with the Store Manager, Chance, and he let me know they'd be giving us calls with updates and to schedule delivery and that the next truck would be coming August 29th, which is so fast, especially these days! The piece we ordered (the Beckham couch) is one of their top sellers, so then, he went the extra mile and said "You know what? Let me check and see if we have these pieces in our warehouse here. They're brand new and sometimes we have them in stock", and guess what?! THEY DID! So we are now getting our couch delivered on Monday, 4 days after ordering it!! We are SO excited! This has been the best furniture shopping experience ever and we can't wait to put our beautiful new couch in our new home! Thank you Renee...
