I have had the worst first experience with UbreakIfix. I reached out to repair my xbox. I knew the issue and tried to order the part. The power button and eject board. I called them October 18th and the guys said he could get the part. He proceeded to order the part as well as selling me the “Asurion home +” and says. “If we can’t fix it this insurance plan will let you replace it after 31 days” They found a similar one that might work. One week later I heard nothing called and the girl said “the part just came in today!” but the guy handling my console wasn’t in so I should call the next day. I do so and he tells me “the part just came in today but it’s cracked so we have to order another” annoying but alright. I wait two weeks with no call from the UbreakIfix. I call them and they still haven’t gotten the part yet. I hear nothing so I call Asurion on November 26th they say they can’t do anything with my Xbox because the work order is still open and not labeled as “unfixable”. They say “give the offices of UbreakIfix a call on Monday, get them to label it at unfixable then call us back and we will take care of you” neat progress I call the office on Monday they 28th. They reach out to the store to find out what’s going on and they come back and say “they have the part and are just waiting for your device”. I had not been contacted in any way to be told the part was there. I called the UbreakIfix location I had been working with. The representative I spoke with said that “because this took so long we will get you in tomorrow. It should take a few hours to fix it and you can pick it back up”. Nice. That’s good customer service. I show up there at 11:30 on the 29th. Get told firmly that it will be a two week wait to have my Xbox repaired, the part might work with some differing and it’s a gamble to get it working properly. I am furious at this point. Well over a month of waiting. I tell him to label it as unfixable. I call Asurionhome+ and they inform me that due to the condition happening before I signed up with them that my Xbox wasn’t covered and the representative sold it to me under false pretenses and they can’t help. I call corporate get pushed up to the manager over my case. She says they can’t replace my Xbox or do anything about the wait because consoles are non priority. I explain the entire situation including the rep I spoke to the previous day and she would not budge or help me out in any way. This entire experience has been a mess of misinformation blatant lies and an extreme lack of customer service. My Xbox is currently with the UbreakIfix as they are the only tech store around. I’m trying to have faith they will do a decent job but now I have to wait another two weeks for them to finally fix my Xbox. If the gamble pays off and that part they ordered works. There has been an extreme lack of responsibility taken with zero effort put in to take care of the customer. Unless this changes the 1 star...
Read moreIf I could give it negative stars I would. I had an iPhone 6s. I was at Verizon for another phone/issue and brought up that the battery in this phone died quickly. He told me they use uBreakiFix for repairs and that they could just swap out the battery and it would take about 15 minutes. He booked me an immediate appointment with them and I drove over there. It took about five minutes door to door. Upon arrival they were just taking people in order of how they walked in, not asking about appointments, so I don’t know why we bothered with that. While I waited the person ahead of me was very upset saying he had brought in his phone to them and they had broken it (long story short). They refused to accept responsibility for it and said it didn’t happen on their watch. He left with no resolution. I then explained there was nothing wrong with the phone and Verizon said they could do a quick battery swap. The man at the counter told me it would be an hour to an hour an a half. Ok fine, maybe they were busy. I left (this was around 2:30) and waited. By 5:30 I still hadn’t heard anything so I called to check on the status. After a brief hold a girl got on and very nonchalantly told me when they put the new battery in, the phone stopped powering on and basically the motherboard was fried. No sense of urgency or any shred of being apologetic for destroying a perfectly good phone. I had to prompt her to tell me what to do next, and she very casually said I should go back to Verizon and tell them what happened and they’ll take care of it. Verizon closes at 6 and she’s 15 minutes across town (in rush hour traffic to boot). All just very no big deal on her end. I called when I was less than five minutes away and said they needed to have the phone ready to go as they’ve left me no time to make it back to Verizon. I get there and they call out from the back “we’ll be with you in a minute”. I told her I had to go, I was out of time and again, with no apologies or sense of urgency, she took her time checking me out. I made it to Verizon with four minutes to spare. Thankfully they were a lot more customer service focused and even apologized for what happened, and they had nothing to do with it. The customer service here is grotesquely appalling and non existent and I cannot believe they stay in business with such shoddy ethics and apathetic behavior. I’ve never seen a business take such little responsibility for their actions. Places like these are a dime a dozen, I would avoid them like a...

Update: I bought a two pack of interior screen protectors from Amazon for $10, and they were super easy to install. Much less effort than dealing with UBreakIFix.
I brought in my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 when the interior screen protector started to peel up. This is a common occurrence, so it is covered under the warranty. Unfortunately, my warranty had expired, but since I take such good care of my phone, it hadn't had any prior issues.
After I paid $19 for the repair, there were a few small bubbles. I was told they had some trouble getting the screen protector on, but it should be fine. Later that day, I noticed the bubbles spread and pealed up along the fold again.
I was busy, and it was almost the end of the day, but I wanted to call immediately. On the phone, they told me there was no warranty, but if I brought it back into the store, they could look at it. Before the day was over, the screen protector was peeling up worse than when I brought it in.
A couple of days later, I returned to the store. The woman behind the counter said she remembered working on my phone and that it didn't open completely flat, making it hard to install the screen protector. Since there was no warranty, she was willing to install a new one if I paid her another $20.
I told her I understood there was no warranty, but I would expect it to be at least last a single day. She said if I had come back the same day, then maybe she might have been able to do something for me. I told her I called that day, and no one mentioned my needing to come back in before closing time.
I've worked with tech all my life, including several years in service and helpdesk, so I know stuff happens. I would expect a respectable company to make some effort to stand behind their work.
I've always installed screen protectors and repaired phones for myself, friends, and family, but I thought for a $2000 phone, I should trust it to be a professional. Apparently, UBreakIFix is not a source of professional service. If they didn't think they could install the screen protector correctly, they should have told me before making it worse. And then to say, "Sorry, no warranty, but we will charge you $20 to mess it up again" is completely unacceptable.
Luckily, $20, and replacing the screen protector myself is a relatively cheap price to learn the lesson to avoid UBreakIFix. Now I know to avoid them and go somewhere that offers professional repairs...
