2/3/25 —- So, I started a new health kick! It all began at Burn Boot Camp back on December 23rd. I decided I would work out for 30 days straight—and I did! I only took two days off to give my knees a little rest. Then, on my first trip of the year out of state, I figured I would find places to work out while traveling. As always, I turned to Google Maps and found a gym that caught my attention—only 40 minutes long, in and out!
At around 8:30 AM, I took an Uber from my hotel and got there, only to realize I had forgotten to download the app. (I had spoken to a gentleman on the phone to ask about drop-in prices, but clearly, I didn’t plan well enough.) When I arrived, I found out the classes were already full—I had walked in during their busiest hours, 8–10 AM. So, I waited a good 50 minutes for an open spot. In the meantime, I stretched and talked to the trainer, who explained how everything worked. This gym was a very different concept from what I was used to. I tried to figure things out by watching others, but that didn’t help—so I asked. My scheduled slot was for 9:50 AM.
The gym had monitors showing each exercise, the time for each movement, rest time, and all that. Pretty interesting! Luis, Eduardo, and Sergio were amazing. Luis explained how everything worked, and if it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have double-checked whether I had checked in for the class—which I actually hadn’t! I thought I did, but thanks to Luis, I was still able to grab the 9:50 AM class. Sergio walked around checking people’s form, and talking to him, I found out we were from the same country—Canaleros ! What are the odds? That was really cool. Finding someone from the Isthmus is a gem !
At first glance, the workout didn’t look as challenging—probably because I’m used to trainers yelling at me! But let me tell you, it was tough. My arms almost gave out, partly because I had done kickboxing on Saturday and had already exhausted them with punches. Certain movements felt impossible. The drop-in classes cost around $32, so if you're thinking of trying it out, make sure to download the app, sign the waiver, and ensure your payment goes through. They need your name in their system because you reserve a spot and get assigned a station with a letter (A, B, or C). It's nearly impossible to just show up and hope to get in—unless you want to wait as long as I did!
Since I’m sticking to my New Year's decision to do boot camps every day except Sundays, I plan to drop in at different gyms while traveling. That’s partly why I couldn’t sign up for a yearly membership at Burn Boot Camp—I loved it, but I wouldn’t be able to attend enough days each month to make it worth it.
If you're in town, definitely give this place a try—I have no regrets. Plus, they give you a towel, which is a nice touch! I was sweating like crazy—it was definitely a workout. I'm sticking to my decision from last December to work out daily, but I’m switching things up with different workout styles at different gyms makes it interesting. If this is your first time at sweat 440 just it was my first time . Ask questions . It’s a different concept , be open minded when you go there . The workout you can modify it . The trainer won’t be up your toes screaming at you or anything like that . They do watch you for form . Keep mindful of your form . I actually like that during the training the trainers didn’t talk to you as much only if absolutely necessary. So , this is a different concept HiTT place . Try your best , sweat and enjoy the rest of your day
And to Sergio Mopri, it was great meeting you! Hopefully, we’ll see each other again—if not here, then in the Isthmus or in the New Jerusalem....
Read moreI am truly so happy I found this gym. I can’t say enough good things about it. First of all let’s start with the fact that every single staff member is so kind and professional, something that is hard to find in Miami. I have met both of the owners on numerous occasions and they are also such great people. Second, the workout itself is amazing for many reasons. It goes by extremely quickly because it is so fun and engaging, and you can make it specific to you ALWAYS. I am constantly bringing new people here because I know no matter their level they will be able to get a great workout. I also come here with a good guy friend often and even though we both workout at different levels we both feel like we got an excellent workout. The community at Sweat is also wonderful, it tends to attract really fun and friendly people. The fact that you can join a class every ten minutes is amazing for people who don’t want to sit around for an hour waiting for a class to start after work or are always running late to classes. My fitness level has definitely improved thanks to the trainers as well, they are very supportive without being pushy. Love this gym and concept and can’t wait to...
Read moreJust be careful with the contract! I did a one month contract because I was super excited with the offer and the front desk guy convinced me in a rush to get a membership. I asked him about cancellation fees/ break of the contract etc and he told me I would only have to call that they would cancel, that was an easy and fast process. I loved going there but it has become a nightmare trying to cancel this. I can’t use (medical reasons) and I don’t wanna use anymore the place, and now every time I call the number they gave me they tell that I can’t cancel because was not 14 days prior my billing cycle. So I decided to froze the membership because I couldn’t pay either. And now what they say? They say that if I unfroze and ask to cancel (no matter what day) I will have to pay. Which means o only had ONE chance to cancel the membership. Is really frustrating because I always check every detail in a contract, the only time I didn’t I got in this situation because the front desk person didn’t told me all the details. Anyways, the experience has been really bad and nobody there is willing to make any effort to understand my situation and to solve...
