My experience at Panther has been decaying throughout the years (Price relative to experience), and after todays incident I don't think I'm going back.
Panther is probably in the 5% most expensive coffee shops in Miami/Miami Beach. I'm okay with "paying more for better", but in my experience the product's consistency and service are not reflecting to me that price level, specially recently.
In the recent months I've experienced often that the coffee I get varies. Maybe the proportions of milk, or honey... I don't know, but the product is often considerably different.
This week I've ordered coffee two different days. I always order the same thing (Latte with Honey Syrup). The first day they forgot to put any syrup inside, and I basically went home with a (to me) tasteless $10 coffee.
The second time they put so much syrup I couldn't even enjoy drink it. It was an abnormal quantity of syrup as I can compare it with the other 50-100 coffee that I've ordered here. And it was not a huge deal as I asked if they could make a new one with less syrup, and they kindly did.
The bigger deal comes when one of the servers Christofer "talked down" to me when asking if they could mix it in, instead of giving me a side of honey syrup for me to mix, as they did. There's no reason to be disrespectful to a client that has not been disrespectful to them first.
I don't think I will be...

Some people get a healthy tip for one drink but still want you to walk all the way around the counter to get it at the pickup station. Other people have service instincts and just hand it to you over the divider. It’s kind of amusing.
The coffee is generally too strong. They use a pour over ratio of 1:10, which is, IMHO, nuts. The drip coffee is also strong. The cold brew is strong. I just got an iced tea and it’s strong and bitter. I’m not an espresso guy but I wonder if they’ve found a way to pull 7 shots into a one shot drink just for the sake of consistency.
The canned water is not too strong. Maybe get that and enjoy the space.
2021 UPDATE: Along with the decline in service, the pour over is now over extracted and bitter. I gave this place many chances. No more. //
Original review: This is the best coffee in south beach. It might be the only specialty coffee in south beach. For that reason it gets 5 stars. It gets two stars taken away because the people working here, if they were any less excited about their jobs, would verge on the hostile. I’ve been here 5 times in 10 days. No one remembers my name. No one wants to talk...
Read moreDear Panther Coffee owners, I don't write google reviews very often. Something either has to delight me or extremely bug me. I go to your coffee shops all the time. The coffee is excellent. The service is generally polite and pleasant.
My issue is with your bathrooms.
I get the whole industrial aesthetic. It looks cool, modern, hip. The issue I have is that when I go into your bathrooms, (whether it's the Sobe or Wynwood location) I feel like I'm in a dingy, dirty bar. The lighting is terrible and it feels like the space has been used and abused.
They're also almost always dirty. The waste bin is always full and there's always paper towels on the floor. The seat is almost always covered in something (which could be because blokes can't see where to aim.) I feel like this could be an easy fix. Better lighting and a consistent cleaning schedule (heck one of those sheets on the back of the door.)
When I've worked in restaurants in the past we've rotated bathroom duties because nobody likes it but it's a necessary evil! I hope you'll truly consider this because I love your...
