Went to this place one night after a pretty good winning streak at another casino. Get ready for a funny and tragic review with plenty of weirdness. The place is not in the best neighborhood, and the parking doesn't have enough light, so pulling in I began to get strange vibes, being from Miami, I forged ahead because of you don't get bad vibes from a business at night at least once a month, you aren't really from the 305. I got out and immediately heard a bunch of roosters going at it at around 4 am. I didn't see any, so I started walking to the place. Roosters got louder and louder, still couldn't see them. I started walking faster, phantom roosters would be an all time new. I made it to the gate where you have to cross through to make the front door and the roosters clucking was overdrive, I looked around and finally up. Yes up, in the trees, roosters galore. I couldn't see them but judging by the droppings on everything beneath the trees, there must have been at least 50. I briskly waltzed inside. Security was on her phone, I walked past and not so much as a ripple of a hello, welcome, please leave your money and get out, or any other salutations. I made it to a machine, sank some bills. Nothing. Then won a little on some others while the players around me looked on over my shoulders. Closer, closer, I could feel the gawking.
I decided I needed a smoke, so I walked around a bunch of empty machines, stragglers here and there feeding money into slots, some sleeping at the machines, I almost expected to see chickens pecking at the grubs on carpet. I found the smoke room. It was a room lined with machines, cigs ground out on floor, cups and garbage everywhere. Some people in the room had the look of shifty eyed criminals, I said hellos because one never knows, they may be sweethearts and great conversationalists. I lit my cig and played a few rounds on these old slot type machines, windows open with bars on them and the grinding noise of the Metrorail. No where to ash, I also ashed on the floor. The place is a gutter, but, when in Rome... I played a few rounds, smoked a little and took in the creepy, shadowy dark place. Ghosts may not even float inside. People chattered in Spanish, I began to get the shakes. Moths and mosquitoes buzzed through the open grate. Place smelled like an ashtray. Ash in the air, on the machines.
I said my goodbyes to the charming people who would NOT be quiet, who slung slang in epic Spanglish the whole time I was there. Que Vola? Que Vuelta? Que Volin, ascere? Prestame una monja pa' jugar la maquinita! Ooookay. I got weird looks but some managed to return pleasantries. I walked to a machine that wasn't off, blinking or simply unresponsive. Lost some money at it. The seats and carpet smelled bad. Never saw a single janitor or janitorial specialist tech, no one cleans the place it seems. I began to get creepy vibe again, patrons look unfriendly and shifty eyed. Lots of pacers and people walking around not knowing where they want to lose their money fastest. I got up slowly and walked to the door, I didn't run, since that's just what they'd expect you to do. I went out casually, almost blase. Made the door and I was outside again. Muggy night, shadowy parking lot and the roosters in the trees. It had been drizzling, unfinished asphalt gouged down to the gravel made big puddles. I had to put my pristine sneakers in it to get into my car. I started counting my money right there, getting my stuff in order for my drive out of the nightmare. People in cars slowly circled the lot. I put the money away and drove out, then to make sure I wasn't followed, zig zagged all over the place, cutting between lanes, making illegal turns and generally skidaddling. I got out while the getting was good. Five bucks says the roosters are still up in the trees wondering when they'll shut off the neon lights so they can get some sleep. Sadly, not likely anytime soon. Would not recommend unless of course some laughs are all you want. Bring holy water, a crucifix and cascarilla just in case, this is...
Read moreI am a season casino patron so I will rate this casino in comparison to other Florida casinos. This casino differs from the casinos in there categories. This casino compares to Mardi Gras casino located on Pembroke Rd East in Broward county and Calder Race Trac casino. Walking in isn't the thrill of the Indian casinos at all. The lighting is not as bright as it should be witch poses a safety risk. Valet area is yet lite up like a Christmas tree.So yes brighter lights are needed in the parking lot. There is one roving security officer in the lot. Upon entering security doesn't acknowledge you. We walked around and took inventory as to what games they had. They have a lot of the newer cabinets models and games. Huff and Puff, all the new and old Lightening Links, Dragon Cash, Dragon Links,Buffalo series, Coin Trio, Mummy, Return to Oz, Wonka, The Fire Cracker Game, All Aboard and a bunch more. They also have a lot of old school games. There is a live band or Dj that plays in the back. They have a restaurant and high limit area. Plenty of table games that shockingly was full or busy. I went Sunday morning at about 2AM. This is a casino that is populated by senior citizens. So it fairly quiet and you don't hear the games because most of the volumes are low. The bathrooms were clean. The ATMs are staged thought out the area but as first timer we looked for a minute before finding some by the valet entrance. Please remember this is not on the scale of any of the Indian owned casinos. This is a heavy Spanish community that does cater to their culture. Game Play: The machines are tight and I do mean tight. I understand that gambling is a risk but for the rate of bonuses to spins and the ratio to pay out this is about the same as the other casinos in their category. I played several games and all the machines I play buttons and sound worked. Please note that I have been to all of Florida's casinos. Rating in terms of everything for this class of casinos:
Harrah's formerly Palm Aire in Pompano Gulfstream in Hollywood Casino Miami in Miami Mardi Gras Casino in Hollywood Calder Casino This is excluding the Indian casinos. Hope this review helps and please gamble...
Read moreThis is where you want to be, friendly helpful staff. As I'm playing I hear people's names being called for contests, in my years i was never called. I find this place enjoyable and pleasant, at I used to see people cleaning the machines after use, but not lately. Maybe they ran out of people? IDK but they used to have a lot of people in there cleaning. Now when I go move from machine, to machine oh, there are not people cleaning behind each use. They do not quite as often as they used to in the beginning. It would be nice, If they did. But they do not and that's, the absolute truth. I keep my mask on, and my disinfectant / sanitizer, with me and use it before I touch every machine. I don't wait for them to clean the machine I clean it myself, at least where I touch it at. They will say they are doing it, I'm telling you they do not. Come here for yourself and you will see, people move from machine to machine, there are not any one cleaning in one area. Sorry they're just not doing it as often as they should. FYI, you have to clean behind yourself. I spend quite a bit of money when I come here, I never win free play, they say play with your card and I always do. As a result of doing this, they offer $3 or $5 every couple of days sometimes even $10 every few days or once a week. They really expect for you to play with your card, while waiting one hour at times to hear if your name, is going to be called. You know how much money you would spend during that time? They don't give you enough money in freeplay. They're making millions! IDK about that! The need to be more African-American winners. They will say that following regulations and Etc. When you go you know the real. Nonetheless of my opinion, It's always good to see someone winning here. Even if its not me. Despite they don't clean as often as they should, I still like coming here because it's the closest casino to where I live. So many people come here and lose oh, how could you not feel sorry for them sharing their story with you , chatting a bit,on the machine. To each their own. I have a good time when I come here winning or not. But come on down and judge for yourself....
