Review: EB Hotel Miami Stayed by invitation; full disclosure up front.
Summary Conveniently located near the airport with large, attractive rooms and a good overall facility design—but not quite up to true luxury four- or five-star standards in several key areas. For a quick stop-over or an “easy in/easy out” stay, it certainly performs. But for the kinds of clients I serve (convention goers, vacationers, and cruise pre/post stays) who expect a more elevated experience, it falls short in important ways.
What Works Well • The property presents beautifully: public areas are spacious, modern, and visually appealing. • Size of the room: my suite (Deluxe/ADA Deluxe/Master) was generous—enough space to function as both a bedroom and an entertaining space, which is a plus. • Practical advantages: Free airport shuttle service and very close proximity to the airport are strong benefits, especially for pre-/post-cruise or convention clients. • Visual appeal and “sanctuary” feel inside: The lobby, restaurant area, and interiors offer a welcome contrast to the outside environment.
Where It Falls Short • Staff consistency: While many guests report excellent service, my personal rating of the staff is 4 stars—mainly because I found inconsistencies in how knowledgeable, guest-centric, and proactive the team was. Some team members excelled; others were more transactional. For a property positioning itself as premium, the service didn’t feel as polished or consistent as top-tier competitors. • Room workmanship and cleanliness: Despite the room’s generous size, I found notable deficiencies. Using a black light, I discovered stains on the small chaise lounge; furniture surfaces felt insufficiently wiped down; and dust on the bathroom scale indicated a lack of detailed housekeeping. These are red flags for a hotel in this category. • Outdated in-room technology and wasted space: The room had a Murphy bed (a nice touch), but the technology—TVs, phones, and bedside plugs—felt dated. The suite layout also seemed under-utilized: a great amount of space but a missed opportunity to make the living area more luxurious or functional. • Location concerns: For many of my clients, location is a major factor. While airport proximity is a plus, the surrounding area is less desirable. I observed significant homeless presence, police activity, and visible drug use nearby. That makes me cautious about recommending this property to leisure clients seeking a resort-style or walkable experience near the port or South Beach. This led to my 2-star rating for location. • Overall star/price alignment: Given these points, I’d position EB Hotel Miami closer to a 3-star experience—not because the hotel is bad, but because the expectation set by its marketing and design isn’t fully met in practice. If this same hotel were located near the port, I believe it could earn a 4.5-star rating or higher. But in its current setting, the “hassle vs. reward” balance is less favorable.
Conclusion & Recommendation For a quick one-night stay near the airport (especially for early flights or pre-cruise turnarounds), EB Hotel Miami is a functional and convenient option: large rooms, decent amenities, clean interiors, and free shuttle service. For convention delegates needing close airport access, it works.
However, for clients seeking a more elevated stay—two or more nights, a true vacation atmosphere, or proximity to the port or South Beach—there are better options.
If you do book EB Hotel, I recommend: • Inspecting the room thoroughly upon arrival (check upholstery, furniture surfaces, and amenities). • Confirming room type and in-room tech features in advance. • Advising guests that while the hotel interior is inviting, the neighborhood is airport-adjacent, not resort-oriented. • Positioning it as a “functional convenience” stay rather than a luxury destination.

The main disappointment was at check in after a very long flight, the front desk agent refused to let me in to my suite because I arrived 1 hour before check in time. I told me that I needed to wait in the lobby for another 45 minutes or pay $50 for an early check in..I did pay the extra $50 as I understand there are rules and I was tired and didn't want to wait in the lobby for an hour, however, I feel sometimes, though that the desk agents should be empowered to show some discretion particularly when it was not that the suite wasn't ready, but simply that he needed to wait an hour before he could check me in because that is normal hotel check in time...It would seem to me, that having a guest sit in the lobby for an hour half asleep and miserable, or letting me go up to my room should have been something he could have had the discretion to make a logical decision. It's not like it is was 4 or 5 hours before check in .The irony is that my flight this morning left at 11:00 am so I was out of my room at 8am, 3 hours before check out time. Of course, I didn't stop the front desk to ask for a refund for checking out early....The only other issue was that I paid for 2 nights of parking but could only find parking the first night because on the second night there was some type of event going on and the lot was full on so I had to park my rental car on one of the side streets. Had I known the area well enough, I could have done the same the night before and avoided the parking fee. I think if the hotel is going to charge for parking there should be enough parking to accommodate their guests..Other than that, I was only there for 2 days but I was impressed with the physical hotel and its amenities and of course, proximity to...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful quiet well appointed hotel. I can't say enough about the place. I stayed 4 nights a week on 3 or 4 occasions when I was working in town last spring. OMG, the staff 5 stars very accommodating and informative. The parking is easy and free. The first time I stayed there I could not stop telling my friends about it. When I asked for a fridge for my room I got it the same evening. The room I had, and I believe most of the hotel is the same if not all, have an incredible door, entry foyer, and amazing bathroom that is larger than some rooms in the Roosevelt in New York. Multi-head shower, glass with a powered shade for privacy. Bidet opposite the toilet. Wonderful thick towels accent lighting motion detected so at night the lighting under the counter comes on when entering any area so you are not stumbling around. The bed was dually adjustable for firmness. King-sized and extremely comfortable as were the linens. The very large flat screen on the opposite wall was easy to see and use. Storage was everywhere, Including cedar hangers, safe, iron, and iron board. Beyond the bedroom were large 10ft ceiling-to-floor French doors that gave access to another room which is large and contained a desk, lamp, ergonomic chair, huge couch, comfy armchair with ottoman coffee table, more storage, coffee pot, and misc. Purchasable items. I never heard anything outside the room including the airport. Room service and housekeeping were wonderful. I have forever been spoiled by this place. I did stay at a few others around Miami so I could experience different areas. If this were on the south beach this room would cost over a grand. I cannot say enough about this Venezuelan-owned hotel. So...
