One Star - Unsanitary and Disrespectful Stay My one-night stay at this hotel on March 23, 2025, in a Deluxe Room with Two Double Beds, was a truly dreadful experience. While the hotel's interior appeared modern, the reality was a stark contrast. Let's begin with the few positives: the air conditioning worked efficiently, the room offered a fridge and microwave, and complimentary coffee was available all day. The beds were comfortable, and we had three pillows per bed. Also, I saw no roaches, contradicting other reviews, and the first-floor room was quiet, with no airport noise. The hotel's proximity to the airport was also convenient. However, the negatives were overwhelming. The hardwood floors were disgustingly filthy and sticky (see attached photo of towel after wiping some spilled water), demonstrating a severe lack of cleanliness. A stray cat roaming the hallway was a disturbing sight. The initial greeting from the front desk, asking if we were there for a food truck, was bizarre and unprofessional. The housekeeping staff's behavior was unacceptable. A housekeeper rushed past me with her cart while I was navigating with luggage, carelessly dumping items on the floor and further impeding my passage. She should have waited. The room's amenities were inadequate, with only one chair. The TV menu was exclusively in Spanish, with no English option. This is America, and such a setup is completely unacceptable. Several channels, including the History Channel and Animal Planet, had unwatchable, poor reception. The Wi-Fi was frustratingly slow. The hotel's "no smoking" policy was blatantly ignored. Cigarette butts littered the property, and people smoked openly poolside. I even caught a maid smoking outside a "no smoking" sign (see attached photos). Furthermore, and most concerning, there was possible mold on the bathroom ceiling (see attached pictures), posing a potential health hazard. Finally, the TV in the breakfast area was tuned to a Spanish-speaking channel, which made me feel marginalized as an English speaker. This is disrespectful and unacceptable. In summary, the few positive aspects of this hotel were overshadowed by the unsanitary conditions, unprofessional staff, disregard for policies, and potential health hazards. I strongly advise against staying here.

I have been coming here for approximately 10 years. Even though the front desk staff have always been very friendly and courteous. The hotel itself has become a place I will never stay at again. Our experiences over the years continues to decline with our current stay being the worst. Our room smells horrible, needs numerous repairs, we had a cockroach in the bathroom, we had no remote for our tv (called to inquire/request one and were on hold for 25 minutes and waited for 45 to get one), we asked for extra pillows and they said they didn’t have any, our room is on 4th floor next to elevator and you can hear every single time it is used the cables running (I’m guessing the elevator is used hundreds of times a day, if not thousands. As you would hear the very loud sound every 10-30 seconds of the day). At 4am we were awoken by someone having what sounded like a party. We could hear loud talking, arguing, yelling, very loud music. It sounded like bongos etc were being played. We called the front desk a couple times. Each time being told they would send security and would be kicked out if it didn’t stop. Only to continue and we finally gave up. We knew others guests were also upset as they would pound on the floor above to add to our misery of noises. Because the hotel front desk staff and airport shuttle staff have been very pleasant and welcoming we didn’t want to complain any further as we felt bad for all the complaints etc they must have received and didn’t want to burden them further. Lastly, the hotel ice machines were out of service (I think I recall this from last time) and the complimentary breakfast was out of everything and has also declined with options based on our previous visits. The cruise port shuttle that use to be included in your stay is now $12 pp. We still have one more night to stay and can only hope we get a peaceful nights rest before continuing on with our vacation travels. Note: it is very close to MIA airport. They have free hotel shuttles and a bus stop close if you choose to navigate the bus system. Low flying airplanes do fly right over hotel.

If I would put a minus I would so I went to the hotel for 10 nights. The first night I arrived it was ok I smelled cigarettes all thru the hotel but I dont smoke and when I got to my room not bad. I got sick while there and two days later got up to use the bathroom greeted by a ROACH BABY . I called them and told them to there are roaches they changed my room to next door ok I am a cold person I usually turn the heat on at night but guess what only air was coming out I called them to fix they send maintenance he said he couldn’t fix. I called to see what’s the next move the front desk person said I will call u when I can find another room mind you they never called my nails were blue when I got up me and my sister had to sleep in coats. We got up and guess what an even bigger roach and it was pregnant. I called again they found a room my sister went to check the room smelled like ass and cigarettes my sister could t even eat her food she almost vomited then we told them we need another room they were posed by this time but this isn’t my fail and I spent 1100 on ten days there. We finally got a room the last day and the power went out no refund they only refunded me 51.01 I will not ever GO TO THE RED ROOF PLUS INN IN MIAMI ACROSS FEOL RHE AIRPORT. I also won’t EVER BOOK THRU THE HOOPER THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A GREAT STAY AND IT WASNT AND THEY ALSO DIDNT REFUND ME

AWFUL! We were there for 6 nights. My husband needed eye surgery and we were told by my husband's doctor in Atlanta that this was an emergency so we had to be in Miami the next morning so we were caught unawares and had to make immediate plans. Money was really tight so we got online and found this place for a terrific price and the pictures looked ok so we booked it. OMGOODNESS WHAT A MISTAKE. The first room they put us in we were there for about 30 minutes and realized the TV didn't work in that room. When I went to the front desk to enquire about the problem I was asked what room I was in and when I told him, he said the TV in that room doesn't work and was surprised we had been given the room. He immediately gave me new keys to another room at the other end of the loooong hall. After I packed everything back onto the cart and took everything down to the other room I got us settled in and to my horror saw a roach crawling on the wall. I killed it but at that point became very wary. During the several day stay in that room I probably saw about 4 more but they were all sick and easy to kill so I did my level best to ignore it and keep a REALLY good check on our bags, clothing, etc. When breakfast rolled around Joe and I went down and discovered nothing but bread, sweet muffins, slices of cake, sweet cereal and the only fruit was bananas. You also had the option of making a waffle. There was a small refrigerator but it was empty.....no yogurt, cottage cheese or anything of that nature. There was no protein of any kind. You would think it would have been relatively easy to provide something like scrambled eggs and sausage. I'd have been happy with boiled eggs. If you're diabetic you'll have to eat breakfast elsewhere or bring your own. I think it was Monday (we checked in on Friday) my husband and I were trying to relax after a 5 hour visit at the doctor's for tests and pre-op protocol. All of a sudden the wall behind our bed sounded like it was being attacked with a jackhammer!! I don't know what maintenance were doing in that room but we couldn't even hear the TV. This lasted off and on for about 20 minutes. Well, I don't know if they cut something they weren't supposed to or what (or it may not have had anything to do with it) but, a few hours later we realized our air conditioner in the room was no longer cooling!! This was the first week of September. In Miami. Hot! Maintenance was called and apparently couldn't fix the problem so we were . . once again . . given another room. Had to pack up EVERYTHING again and move two rooms up the hall. Didn't see any roaches in this room so thought, ok we can do this two more nights. The next day, Tuesday, my husband had two surgeons (a retina specialist and a cornea specialist) do the surgery on his eye. Whew, ok, that's over. Go back to room to try to relax and recover ....... SLEDGEHAMMER STARTS ON THE WALL BEHIND OUR BEDS IN THE ROOM NEXT TO THIS NEW ROOM AND CONTINUES OFF AND ON FOR 20 MINUTES! We left on Thursday morning and I've NEVER been so glad to get out of a hotel in my life. . Now, you may think this nightmare is over at this point but you would be wrong. In the last room we were in I started itching. Didn't think much about it and we were only in the last room two nights so I seriously didn't think too much about it. By the time I had driven the 10 hours to get back to our home I knew there was a problem. The itching was INTENSE. I started examining my legs, arms and back and discovered a pattern of straight lines all over me. I've never experienced anything like this in my 61 years on this earth so I had to Google it to determine the problem. BEDBUGS!!!!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! STAY AT THE RED ROOF PLUS INN AT THE MIAMI AIRPORT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

Thanks for letting me...

This was the worst place we have ever stayed. We wanted a place close to the airport with a free shuttle. The area was not a great area to say the least. The room was nothing more than a glorified dorm room. It was old and dirty, and didn't feel inviting at all. We needed extra pillows and towels and were told there weren't any available until the morning when housekeeping came in. Then they made US go to housekeeping in a different building and ask for them. Breakfast was minimal and they put it away before it was supposed to end. We spent some time in the pool which wad great size and there were plenty of nice lounge chairs and a few tables but the pool was not very clean and there was animal poop all around the deck. There were also a homeless man and woman with all their stuff (and their dog) sitting on the patio with a huge bong on the table between them and they were literally there from first thing in the morning until it started to get dark. Nobody ever said a word to them. We couldn't sit in that area where the tables were or we would have been high too. My husband took a shower and there was no soap in the dispenser so he had to use shampoo to wash, it was nearly empty as well. There was little water pressure. Things were definitely outdated. There was a little market by the front desk and we got some candy. There was a hole in the bottom of it and it all started falling on the floor. They told my husband he opened it and he didn't. The candy looked super old. The workers were rude and didn't want to help anyone at all. The cruise port shuttle was only TO the port and the airport shuttle only ran after 6am. We had an early flight so that wasn't helpful. The shuttle drivers were super friendly though. We stayed a Fri and Sat before our cruise and then one night when we got back. I would have cancelled that after our first stay but it was non refundable. We were also told a 100 dollar HOLD for damages would be put on our card. The first stay they never even asked for my card and didn't do it. The second one they took it. Then when we got home there was, in fact, not a HOLD but an actual charge that had posted to my account. They said it will take no less than five business days to be refunded. I called and asked about it and they said the policy changed from one weekend to the next and that's why I was charged. The story changed twice during the phone call. The man put me on hold mid sentence and then came back and said he had things to do and did I want anything else. OBVIOUSLY didn't care about my complaints. I booked through priceline and they didn't seem to want to help wither. Overall it was a horrendous experience. DO NOT...

Short answer: Only reason for any stars is because the staff was nice, wifi and hvac worked. Plus there was a free shuttle to airport (didn't get our driver's name but he was AWESOME!)

Long answer: My elderly mom and I got in early (from cruise) and called to see if we could check in early. They said they were fully booked, but if we came around noon we should be ok.  We got there at 9ish and were allowed to check our bags in storage until later. When we returned at 12:15ish we were told they could not check us in due to the rooms still being serviced. We waited in lobby (decent free coffee available and plenty of seating). At 1:30pm my mom asked the front desk for an update. Our room was ready, but now it'll be $20 extra to check in early. At no point had anyone told us about a $20 fee, but oh well, we were tired so we paid. The front desk associate, Aleksandra, was very nice and got our luggage from storage and put it on a cart for us.

The room's AC was fantastic and the room was clean. However, the TV wasn't working and the shower head and spout were all rusted. We called the front desk about the TV, and they offered us a new room, but I just asked for new batteries for the remote. Maintenance came to the room, and couldn't get the remotes to work. So front desk again offered to change our room.  We accepted the room right across the hall. TV worked and bathroom faucets wasn't rusted, but it had an old HVAC that was not as powerful,  but worked. I had to transport all our luggage to the new room. By the time I was done, it was 3pm, the time of check-in anyways.

Breakfast was nice the next morning. Plenty of food options and the staff kept the area clean.

Other issue was inconsistent messaging: We ordered food delivery from the menus the front desk had. The staff told us the delivery folks would come to our door. Our delivery guy called and I met him in the lobby instead.

I went to print boarding passes at the "business center" (two computers to the side of the lobby). The computer was extremely slow and the printer was not working.  When I told the front desk about the printer, they informed me you had to email the front desk your document and they will print it for you. There was no signage of this step at the business center or the front desk. There was only a piece of paper at the front desk that listed the email address.

The pool wasn't accessible because it was closed for maintenance. The only reason I know is because I asked about the pool hours and how to access it when we checked in. Otherwise there was no signage or...
