KANGXIN Yuan Massage Spa — Attraction in Milford

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have never had a worse experience in my life. I'm baffled that this place has nothing but good reviews. My friend and I went in yesterday for a "couples" massage. I was first put off by someone texting my phone after trying to call stating that the front desk was too busy and to text to schedule, when we arrive the place is empty. Next issue, location. The spa is in a sketchy plaza and looks nothing like a spa should from the outside. Third issue, privacy. The rooms only have curtains, they rushed us into a room and told us to strip WITHOUT shutting the door and came back 1 minute later asking if we were ready. Again offering zero privacy we were shuffled onto tables butt-naked. Now at this point I'm thinking this can't get much worse but oh boy was I wrong. This is the worst massage I've ever had. We were slapped, groped and so much more. The "massage therapist" pulled down my under garments and proceeded to grope both of us. This was such an uncomfortable experience I'm almost speechless. Just when everything was coming to an end we were told to flip over for a "facial" in which they proceeded to lather scented lotion onto our faces without asking first and pushing their thumbs into my temples as if this would have any benefits other than the massive head ache this gave me. He then proceeded to STICK HIS FINGERS INSIDE MY EARS AS PART OF THE MASSAGE. After this traumatic experience was over we then quickly shuffled to get dressed so we could pay and get the h*ll out of there. As we approach the desk there is now a sign that states you must pay a $10 minimum tip per person that wasn't there when we entered. This is a complete rip off and waste of money. I’ve never been here before but I wished I had read the reviews before booking with them. My man said it was a 6/10 experience (it was his first massage) but ONLY because right after his massage they DEMANDED a 30% Tip. He said he tipped but the lady at the desk said, “it wasn’t enough”. If the tips are not enough you guys need to charge more for your services and pay your employees accordingly. Tipping is OPTIONAL not MANDATORY. To top it off the charge an EXTRA $2 to use THEIR MACHINE, when they’re the ones begging for tips. The service I booked him for was an Hour FULL Body Massage. He said she kept going over the same spots so he didn’t get the full effect. So he tipped her based on his experience for him to be haggled out of $20 for a $60 Service! My man wasn’t in pain before he went now he’s been sore all day. He said she was really rough with her elbow while doing his back as if she was digging into his back with her elbow and that she literally did the “chopping” move 😐 he said he can tell she wasn’t even a professional masseuse. He said she didn’t even hit any pressure points in his hands or feet, he said she literally just lightly rubbed them.

Update: The owner tried to contact me to make it right but I would never go back there or recommend them. The only way to make it right is by not EXPECTING anything more than what they received. The way my man told me they haggled him for tipping more even after he had already tipped them what he felt was right isn’t right. They can’t provide a half ass service and demand more money. That’s not how it works. We as customers tip based on the service provided and the service provided was NOT up to par. I’m glad I read the reviews before going. The receptionist was very brief. Never asked us what services we wanted just sent us to the room. The place was clean and the music was very calming. They didn’t ask if you wanted any areas focused on or anything. Just a one fits all kind of deal. The massage was decent overall. We prepaid for our services to avoid bringing in valuables. When the service was done they DEMANDED a tip. We explained we didn’t bring our wallets and they insisted we Apple Pay or go get a credit card. My husband offered to double up a tip when we returned for another visit. (We did intend to visit again) They refused and told us we needed to tip now and that what we paid is only for the service NOT the lady who massaged us. Never have I been somewhere where they were so demanding and aggressive about a tip. If you’re someone that has a hard time saying no they can easily get you to pay an extra $10-$50 dollars on top of your service.
