Absolutely appalled by the night manager of this store and this store in general. I have bought my meat solely from this store for years,: spending hundreds of dollars each month, thousands each year, but NEVER AGAIN. Friday night I bought a large bag of ground beef and planned to pack it to freeze the next morning. When I go to pack it the meat is rotted. I check the bag & see that it had a sell by date for Thursday. Didn't check it while buying because I never thought a store, especially Bellos, would sell their customers old meat. Well they did. I let it go thinking a local business would want to do everything they could to rectify it. I expected just a basic exchange, nothing extra. Well when I call them to tell them, they tell me that it's impossible that they sold old meat. So I have to raise my voice and tell them I will kindly bring in the dated bag with my dated bank statement for proof. They agree to let me come in. My mother and daughter go for me to exchange and the night manager acts like a total prick about it. My mother grabbed a $15 bag of beef in exchange for my $16 something orig. bag. My 5 year old daughter wanted a thing of mentos so she figured if what the difference was wasn't enough, she'd pay the rest. The manager angrily throws my daughter's snack in the bag and slams it on the counter, waving to just go. As a business owner myself, I always support local, but never will at this store again. I highly suggest rethinking your purchases here in case a problem comes up, because in which case you can expect to be met with adults who refuse to take responsibility and throw a tantrum like a child in front of your very own children. And not only am I disgusted, but I will make sure to let my huge local network in Erie know about it. I used to reccomend this store for meat to everyone, but now I will do the exact opposite. Welcome to 2016 folks, a time in which how you treat your customers can easily be told to the internet, a place people turn to when they want to know more about a...
Read moreIve been shopping @ Bello's for almost a decade for my family. I usually buy meats for the month. This past Monday afternoon I went shopping for my monthly meats, the manager (I assume a Bello) walked with such a straight dissatisfied face through the store. Being the chipper me, I looked at him and smiled and told him to smile. He wisked by as if I was nuts and went to the back room by the meat department. Another female worker who heard the kind gesture to him gave me a dirty look. She then thought I had left the area and started making comments about how the last person told her to smile etc etc...in a very negative, rude , and vulgar comment. I felt belittled, embarrassed, disrespected and offended as a committed customer to had been the laugh of someones miserable day. Shame on that manager for allowing his employee to make rude comments and SHAME on him for being so rude to a customer!!! Im...
Read moreI found some great prices on pork roasts and chops, all mark-downs! The personnel in the meat department are all very helpful and accommodating. It is the ladies up front who are curt and almost to the point of being rude! I asked for some lunchmeat to be sliced very thinly and got an attitude about how the meats in the case WERE already thin. They were not. She did slice my order after I asked a second time, and lunchmeat was no where near thin. Then I was charged $6.89 for a $3.99 pack of cookies. When I found the discrepancy on the receipt, one of the ladies said to me "It was NOT done intentionally", making it as if I had accused the cashier of cheating me! WHICH I DID NOT! I simply had said that I was not charged the correct price for the cookies. I will return because I can find great prices on either reductions or sales...regardless of the less than polite attitudes of the...
