If you are looking for a curly hair salon in the cities, this one is it. I have gone to many different curl salons and they weren’t bad but I wanted to try a new place. So I went to this salon for the very first time today and goodness it’s beautiful. The receptionist was very sweet and offered me something to drink as soon as I checked in, and that simple gesture right there showed me that I was in good hands. Now my stylist Olivia….idk where to start. If I had to pick one word to describe her it would be amazing! She listened to everything I said like I was talking to a friend and that made me feel all the more comfortable. Once she got done with the dry cut, I could already tell a huge difference in my hair (my texture is fine wavy-curly). At the wash station - yeah I would say that was the best scalp scrub and wash I ever had in my life. I kid you not, I was starting to fall asleep. After the wash, Olivia gladly went over all the products that she used, why she used them, and showed me how to use them. All of her patience and kindness was tremendously appreciated and anyone would be in fantastic hands with her. I cannot recommend this salon and Oliva enough. So excited to go back!

The Curl Salon saved my wedding. I went to a different salon (which had dyed my hair before) and instead of the gentle light pink touches I asked for I was given an entire head of neon salmon. It was hideous and when I asked them to fix it, they told me to come back the next day and they could maybe spend 20 minutes on it while someone else was processing. This was the day before my wedding! I had gone to the Curl Salon for haircuts before and they were going to diffuse my hair for the wedding, so I called them in a panic. They told me to come in so they could assess the damage, took one look at me and said I wasn't going to look like that for my wedding. Everyone was so incredibly kind and made sure I was taken care of. It took 4 hours, and Maria did a fabulous job fixing my hair. I really appreciated that several additional stylists and owner came by to check on the progress and worked together to come up with a plan. This was NOT an easy task because of the neon color that was in my hair from the prior salon. The first two photos are of the fabulous job Maria did. The third photo is the awful state the other salon left my hair in.

There’s a reason why this place has 5 stars. This place is immaculate. I’ve been to other curly hair salons and have had such bad experiences. This visit by far was the best thing I could have done for my hair. The owners are so incredibly nice. The staff there are so friendly and amazing. I had the pleasure with working with Faiza. I cannot express how thankful I am for her service. I came in feeling horrible. I hated the way my hair was and I left feeling amazing. She took her time and really listened to what I wanted. When I first came in they gave me a robe and even helped me put it on to protect my clothes throughout the visit, offered beverages (they made me an amazing Carmel iced coffee). Their interior is amazing, the staff make you feel so welcome. Definitely didn’t get any sort of intimidation like other salons. The products they used are amazing and my curls have never looked this good. They are very educational and take the time to go through with you about the products they used along with why and how they used it. I will never think of going to another salon again!!!

I’m extremely frustrated because I’ve been going to the curl salon for over a year now. When I first started going to the curl salon I had a different stylist who was amazing, he was always very kind and explained everything about the process and heavily included me in the decision making process. He unfortunately left after I got my first fun colour done and I was disappointed to learn he’d gone. So for my continuing fun hair colour endeavours I was placed with a newer stylist, I went to her for two colours and cuts and almost everytime I had gone after my original stylist had left, I was told i didn’t have enough time for them to do the things I’d called to do (One time was my fault I was late - adding this so they don’t get up in arms) or I wasn’t in the books for what i’d called for. Considering I was paying 200+ for these colour and cuts, being continually told they didn’t have time to cut after the colour despite knowing it would be a long process was really frustrating as I don’t have the money to come back and pay another 100+ dollars for a cut on top of the 200+ i spent for my colour. Recently I had made an appointment with the stylist I had been seeing, I gave her two weeks notice of what I wanted done and had expressed that if we needed to reschedule that was okay, i just wanted to get the process going. The stylist had two weeks, to give me notice that we would not be doing my hair in full on the day I had scheduled (not a surprise considering what I wanted - but i was expecting better and sooner communication about such). I’m not remotely upset that what i wanted couldn’t ethically be achieved by a hair stylist in a 4-5 hour period, I am upset at the lack of respect and communication. I expressed that I was upset about being told the day prior when I had given the stylist two weeks to talk to me about the process and what needed to be done. Instead of owning up to the mistake and trying to come up with a solution to get me in sooner or make something work, She cancelled her services with me and told me I was no longer a good fit for the salon essentially. I am upset because this is a place I didn’t always necessarily enjoy going to, but seemed like a competent salon with impressionable stylists - however it does seem they do consistently have issues with their patrons and service bookings. I will no longer recommend this place to anyone nor will I ever consider this salon reputable or...

  • the owner got my very true very real review removed. Clearly she is not a 5 star salon if she can get my review of my experience there removed. I will just keep reposting (: *

If I could leave zero stars I would. From the moment I sat in Monikas chair I knew I should have got up. But i gave them the benefit of the doubt. Because I came to a salon that claims to provide professional services.

I wanted a root retouch and a tone. The salon owner did not have the confidence in her stylist and asked her do you feel confident enough to do this. That’s also when I should have left. There was a scheduling mix up and i was only scheduled for a root retouch when I called and said I wanted a root retouch and tone. They squeezed me in to do the tone and rushed the whole process. Whole time Monika and Kristina the owner were yanking at my hair to do my roots. Were both heavy handed. Zero rapport building. I just felt like a body to get in and out of the door.

When It was time to wash and shampoo they had an amateur yanking and detangling my hair because my stylist had another client.

I wanted my hair to be one complete color. She completely rushed putting the toner in. It is multiple different colors of cool and warm tones some parts of my hair look green. The stylist Monika did not know what she was doing. As I was leaving she said “maybe you’ll warm up to it” knowing she messed up.

I would have had better luck at great clips.

When I called to ask for a refund the owner offered to have the same stylist that messed my hair up to do it. Which if she needed to ask her stylist if she was confident enough to do a root retouch and tone. Why would I have her do it. I stated I wanted a refund and she said I can either get the same girl to fix my hair or no refund. She was incredibly rude. Horrible business owner. Zero customer service. As a business owner myself I’m disgusted!

I will never be going back and will tell everyone to spend their money elsewhere.

Take your business to Uptown...

Update: Korryn reached out to me and apologized for my experience and offered to make it right with a new service. She explained the reasons for my experience at the appointment and they were completely understandable! Really appreciate the response!

I went here somewhere between 6mo-1yr ago and forgot to leave a review. It’s a beautiful salon, but unfortunately I just didn’t have a good time. The front desk people were very nice, but the haircut was kind of unpleasant. I did a lot of research before coming here and picked Korryn, since I liked the photos on her Instagram the most. I think she was maybe having a bad day or something, but she seemed very annoyed and uninterested in me as a client. She barely spoke a word to me when she brought me to her chair, which is odd for a first meeting. I told her my hair concerns and she did give me a couple helpful responses, but wasn’t very friendly about it. She did recognize my last name and asked if I had a sister who used to go there, which I did and is why I gave them a try. Idk if that had something to do with it, but if it did that’s still extremely odd. The entire rest of the appointment was in complete silence, which was very awkward since everyone around us was chatting with their clients. She told me what products she used quickly at the end, but didn’t explain how to use them or anything which would’ve been nice. The haircut looked like it does on her instagram and looks great when all the hair is behind me over my back, but when it falls to the side I have a jellyfish thing going on that still hasn’t grown out. That’s kind of my own fault for not explaining my hair is always in front of my shoulders tho, not blaming her for that necessarily. Overall, wouldn’t recommend personally, but I know other people have had good experiences with her so Idk if she had something against me personally, but still not a great impression to retain a...
