Being someone who lives south, this was a delightful find. Few cafes offer cooked wholistic food with such great taste. The staff was pleasing and helpful in explaining the ingredients and menu options, so I could eat everything to my tastes. My food was quickly delivered to my table. Utensils and a cool water dispenser are available for self-service. My broccoli curry bowl was delightful. The sauce makes it! However, the seared tofu and cilantro are perfect accompanying flavors. They use a lot of natural herbs and have a robust selection of vegetarian menu options Interior tables line two street-side walls of windows, making it a most delightful ambiance. They offer many healthy beverages, some in the front cooler, ready to go on hot summer days. Others are hand-made when ordered and are served hot. I had the Earth Potion and was delighted with the taste. It is crafted from house-made cashew date milk, which is why it is so fresh and delightful, along with hits of vanilla and maple flavorings. They have a new “Centered” drink made with cacao and cinnamon. I’ll definitely try that some fall or winter day. You can also order elixirs, tonics, and shots to sip on out on the patio and enjoy conversations with friends and family. I parked on a nearby street and had no problem. It’s an easy walking distance to other local shops. But, first, I recommend checking out the shop that is attached which offers many awesome gifts. Overall, I really like how health-conscious the business is. I highly recommend this holistic cafe if you're in Minneapolis and looking for quality, simple dining.

This place is spectacular. A friend brought me in to get some herbs to make some tea and first aid salves. I had NO IDEA how neat of a spot this truly is. There is a cafe in the front on the main level, that had thee most delicious smells permeating the entire space. Acend a spiral staircase beyond the cafe, and you'll discover a plethora of not only culinary spices and herbs, but a lengthy wall stocked with jar after jar of varying plant leaves and seeds, ground and whole herbs, and a host of other natural products one would find in such a particular place. Countless ingredients to create an endless list of beneficial health and wellness items, including teas, tinctures, salves, balms, and ointments. Natural medicine at its finest! I was incredibly impressed and beyond delighted upon taking it all in. And after all the glory of the bulk herbs and like commodities, there is a gift shop/emporium of some fun , kitchy things, alongside varying prepackaged natural health remedies and wellness aides. Additionally, they carry educational and instructional materials to aquire the skills to create the aforementioned remedies/aides for oneself. This place is a gold mine in terms of goodness one can aquire there. Not to mention, the excellent customer service I received while I visited. I inquired about a culinary item and they did not carry it. The clerk offered to take my number down and contact me if and when they got some in stock. Above and beyond and I'm a customer for life, now. Kudos and thank you for what you're providing to our community. Highly recommend!

Stopped into Tao having neglected to take the few minutes to check it out on my previous excursions to the twin cities. Wow am I impressed. They offer a healthy variety of organic, locally sourced eats and even offer elixirs + health tonics as-well as coffee drinks & teas. I was greeted by a wonderful staff member who was very kind and helpful when asked about the menu / cafe. While waiting for your food, you are able to go explore the shop in the back which is full of herbal supplements, locally crafted goods, & a bunch more stuff that fit the holistic health vibe. Food itself was great and tasted very fresh. Super nutritious and I love that they go the extra mile to source quality, organic ingredients. Would highly recommend checking this place out!

Let's start with the positives: The food was excellent; it was fresh and flavorful. I had the salmon bowl and it was really paired well with the quinoa and dill sauce. My girlfriend ordered the Tao, which was a beautiful mixture of tofu and veggies. The juice we had was also wonderful.

The reason I give this such a low rating is the service was atrocious. We were seated outside, and the waiter was very slow in returning to get our orders. The food came separately from the juice, and we actually had to order from a different waitress. Once the food arrived, nobody checked in on us, not to refill our waters, not to inquire about our dinner, nothing. When we finished eating, at least 10 minutes went by and nobody came to our table to check on the bill. Fed up, I just walked into the restaurant and still was not helped for an additional two minutes, just waiting for our ¨waiter¨ to finish whatever he was doing. We were using a Groupon, but that should not have made a difference in the service.

I get the vibe they are going for, and it is fine to be patient and zen about everything, but there is a difference between being patient and flat out poor customer service. Despite the great food, we probably won't be returning based on this horrendous excuse...
