Caffetto Coffee House — Restaurant in Minneapolis

I want to love this place but I just can't. First the good. It has its own unique feel. It's a local coffee shop with an attitude to match it's uptown location (in a good way). Reminds me of some of the things that made the now defunct coffeehouse Plan B so awesome. The selection is standard coffeehouse fare with some cool extras like unique sodas, baked goods, and sandwiches. I have yet to try one of the sandwiches because they don't look like they could be worth the $7~ cost. Bonus points from me for always having vegan options. The negatives are two, one minor and one devastating. The first is the music can be to loud and grating but it fits in with the places feel so I don't knock it much for that. The reason I rarely come here anymore is the seating is atrocious. There are around 17 tables that could seat 4 but they are always filled by one person (unsurprisingly since coffee shops are popular places to study). It leads the place to have a low capacity and it is popular enough to hit that capacity often. Of the dozen times I've been here in the past month a few I turned and left because there was simply nowhere to sit. All that said its a place I recommend giving a try. It's a great place overall and although it hasn't quite clicked for me I expect it will fit many others...

First, I want to point out that I've been going to this coffee shop for over 2 years because I live 2 blocks away and much like everyone else, I love the atmosphere. Up until this point the staff has been fantastic. The bad part: I met a business partner there just recently and I was running late so we immediately had to jump on a conference call. After the call we we continued to talk about the call and forgot to go up and purchase something. Without warning an employee came up and yelled at us for stealing their internet and to leave if we weren't going to buy something. She stated weve been here for over an hour and a half. I immediately felt terrible because I just plain forgot and then looked at my watch and realized we'd been there for 35 minutes which is still too long and I understand that. But for the way she yelled at us, we decided to leave. It's a shame she didnt recognize that I've been a paying customer there for 2-3 times a week for the last 2 years. This post isnt meant to drive people away, I understand that this is the first even remote bad experience I've ever had here, but there was also a million different ways she could have...

Caffetto is one of my favorite coffee places in the cities! The service is always excellent, the decor is Ca-phenomenal!! (See what I did there). However I am very disappointed in my most recent visit! It started like any other, I went in to get my caffeine fix and vibe for a bit but I immediately noticed a funky smell when I walked through the door. I let it go because I asumed I had just got a bad gust from outside or something. Then while waiting for my beverage I noticed the ac didnt appear to be working. Like it was on but there wasnt any cold air comming out....it was very warm and I cant even imagine how the workers were handling the heat. All the while the horrendous smell happening did not dissipate. I can confidently say it wasnt the workers causing the smell so Im not sure if it was the funky AC or of something had gone bad. Im guessing the former. All in all this was a really disappointing treat yo' self trip and the only saving grace was the exemplary service from the staff! PLEASE CAFFETTO FIX YOUR AC AND CLEANSE THE NOXIOUS FUMES SO I CAN COME BACK! Thank you, love...
