I had an awful experience with Mission Repair. I will never again send anything to Mission Repair. I also tell anyone I meet who needs a device repaired to NOT use Mission Repair. The customer service is TERRIBLE. The repair work is bad. The communication is awful.
I sent in an iPod touch to have the battery replaced. I had to call three times to check the status of my repair. After each time I was told that "the repair would be done tomorrow." Finally, after nearly two weeks, I received my "repaired" iPod.
My account status page showed that the battery was replaced and the iPod passed a quality assurance check. However, my iPod had numerous new problems. The screen was damaged, the battery would not charge beyond 34% and then eventually failed completely, and the iPod whined and made noises constantly. I contacted Mission Repair and was told that I could send it back under warranty. I cannot believe that someone would confirm that my device, in that state, passed any kind of quality test. That was a complete joke.
I sent it back to Mission Repair. I did not hear back from them for days. After contacting customer service a couple of times, I was finally told that the logic board failed and it would be $100 to replace. I declined, and my completely broken iPod was returned to me.
I also filed a FedEx claim on 2/12 for the first shipment. FedEx paid the claim to Mission Repair on 2/13. I contacted Mission Repair 5 times to find the status of the refund for the claim. Each time I was told that they would find the claim info and send the check. Weeks went by, and each time I called I was told that they would send the check. I spoke with multiple people who all told me the check would be sent. The check finally arrived on 3/30---a month and a half after FedEx paid the claim to Mission Repair.
I will never again send anything to Mission Repair. I also tell anyone I meet who needs a device repaired to NOT use Mission Repair. The customer service is TERRIBLE. The repair work is bad. The communication is awful.
My hellacious experience with them has finally come to an end...
Read moreSo, I took my machine into M:R to have an lcd replaced. It just goes downhill from there. They did replace the LCD..super quick, literally called within 24 hours to say come pick up, but when i got there, the display was horrible. The description of the horrible was, the "reflector" was misaligned and there was gunk along the top of the screen under the glass. There was animal hair sticking out of the bezel at the top and bottom of the screen and there were white dots throughout the middle of the display. Also, the bezel was coming off on the top right and bottom right, and his response was, "Let me put a little more adhesive on it." That should have all been quality checked before i got the call to pickup. They thoroughly noted it on the ticket and the person checking me out read the notes back to me....but shouldnt someone have called me? Nope, they told me that if i wanted it done right, I would need to pay an additional 30 bucks and wait 3 weeks, or i could replace the entire lid for an additional 150!! This is in addition to a repair that was already 300!! I opted to get a refund and have the work done somewhere else, ending up saving 20 bucks from the repair being cheaper and they replaced the entire lid!! They also sent me away without a screen because they had thrown the other one away....If you have a 30 day return policy, you should keep the old display. They gave me the machine with two marred refectors and a shell of a lid. The only person who seemed to be understanding in all of this was the poor guy at the front desk and he was the one, redeeming element, to my visit. You cant be that insensitive AND do shoddy work. That is a recipe for failure. I dont like writing bad reviews, but I couldnt get this out of my head. This has got...
Read moreI first took my iPhone 5 into have the battery repaired, and while that did work as expected I noticed that my camera lens had been chipped. I'm not someone who takes a lot of photos with my camera so it was not a big issue for me. Flash forward three months and I go to take my wife's iPhone 5 in for the same problem. The technician comes back 15 minutes later and while the phone will work because of the new battery the home and power buttons is no longer work. After leaving it there for a weekend the technician calls me and tells me that he has no solution, he has not been able to get the buttons to work, and he thinks that perhaps the logic board was shorted out when he was swapping the battery. I can understand if a repair place is unable to always fix an issue but they should not make your phone worse. I will not recommend mission repair to anyone I know in the future. I'm specifically referring to the Johnson Drive location. The one time I took my original iPhone to the location at Olathe I had a very good experience. I had mistakenly believed that the quality and expertise would transfer from one location...
