Gem City Jewelers — Attraction in Monrovia

The moment my husband and I walked into Gem City Jewelers we knew we had found "the ones." We will never go anywhere else after our experience today!

After calling around and going into 5 different other jewelry stores prior I had been disappointed with how cold and condescending people had been. I really wanted to give business to someone that was kind and made me feel valued.

It was so cool to see Greg and Sarven working at their desks right behind the counter and really showed THEY were the ones that would be working on pieces and don't just send rings off to other people to work on.

I went in to get a special ring resized and their quote was by far the most reasonable I had gotten. They were so genuine, kind and created such a warm environment that no matter what my quote had been I couldn't have imagined going anywhere else.

My ultimate dream was to have my ring re-cast, made in a different metal and then re-designed with extra stones added. I had been told by so many people that it would never be possible that I had already given up on the idea, but Sarven and Greg were so optimistic I thought I'd mention it anyway.

They not only said yes, they could make it happen, but that they would let me keep the mold so that if I wanted to make more rings in the future I would easily be able to! Sarven had his own ideas about the placement of the stones and I really appreciated that I was working with a real artist who could take my idea and then run with it and make it even more special.

I don't usually ever write reviews, and I know this one is long, but I honestly feel like I'm in heaven. I never imagined I'd be able to see my dream ring brought to life, let alone at such a reasonable price and made by such down to earth, lovely people.

I highly recommend this Jewelry store. I was visiting my daughter in Monrovia and I broke a prong on my ring on the way to her house. I stopped in this store on a Monday and explained that I was only in Monrovia for a week. The two gentlemen who worked there looked at my ring and said they could fix the prong. I asked if it could also be made a half size larger as it has gotten a little tighter. The gentleman working the counter measured my finger. The jeweler gave me a quote that was very reasonable and told me it would be done on Wednesday. They called me the next day and told me my ring was already done!!!!! He did an amazing job. My family and I have been going to gem city for more than 20 years. We've known Archie and his family... Son and nephew (who run the place since Archie retired) are absolutely wonderful! My mom has had to replace my dad's wedding ring 4x, and they've been able to replicate them amazingly!
