Coast Guard Pier — Attraction in Monterey

make sure you pay for parking before you leave your car and go for a walk on the pier you will receive a lovely parking ticket on your window when you come back that will give you a fine of about 40 to $60 pay for parking Monterey county has a diligent number of parking meter maids and they will take it you the coast guard Pier has a very nice walk when it's open sometimes a gate is closed and it is a nice walk for people it is one of the very popular spots for divers in the area that come from all of the world to dive in that area the water is calmer and there's a large kelp forest for the divers in the area there is a shower area that you recorded into and wash off and I don't really think it is of high traffic area for surfers because if the pier is so it could be dangerous and Rocky we're swimming there is a small Beach you can wager feed in but I wouldn't recommend it for swimming unless you have a diving suit and then you should actually get lessons I'm sad to know that one of the Mainstays of that pure with a diving and wetsuit area and fishing gear place that has gone out of business if you're hungry you're going to pay a premium for anything that you purchase on that pure the restaurant and the cafe located below...

UPDATE: Bring your own chair if you want to get out if your vehicle and hang out. Restaurant in same area is warm, clean and yummy. Restrooms are finished and clean. Warm showers inside mens and woman's when you add some quarters. Pay for parking. Not too expensive. Lots of divers. Nice beach area. A lot of cute Coast Guard fellas. Lol. So, I’m in town as a commercial fisherman. This parking lot happens to be the only place within reasonable parking distance to the boat I work on. The parking enforcement gave me a ticket for being 15 minutes late to feed the machine, never mind that my entire dash is covered with parking passes representing an insane amount of money just to be mobile in the area.
