Monterey Lanes — Attraction in Monterey

Overall positive experience. The BAR is clean. The atmosphere feels mature and is great for bringing friends. Billiards is cheaper in the bar than in the arcade, but they won't warn you when the hour is up and will charge you for the next hour. Be sure to bring your ID, even if you're just there for billiards. The ARCADE has air hockey, billiards, and a couple arcade games for the kids. It also has food, like pizza, which is average. Good for eating at the main event The BOWLING ALLEYS are well maintained and clean, with attendants close by if a ball gets stuck or other. The shoes, however, are a little worn, but comfortable. There are some pairs where you may slip a bit when bowling. The balls themselves are fine, with some scratches and scrapes on the surface. I just adore the owner. I spend all my holidays bowling. It's apart of my life something I look forward to almost everyday and it brings happiness to my life. Especially when league is on that goes to Reno thats my favorite. I can't wait to get the ball rolling. If you know what I mean? Last, but not least, the workers there. I have special people that I have bonded with through the years, Diane, been there since I was a young girl, Gary is another land mark that keeps the lanes in tune, been there along time too. We have Carlos the manager he rocks. Also I do miss the old crew that not there anymore. But they did good on hiring a bunch of new young adults still trying to get there names down. I thank all of you and I can't wait till Wednesday because they are closed...

I honestly feel like I was cheated out of a good night tonight. We had paid for an hour game and didn't even get to play for more than 20 minutes because each lane that we got had problems and when we asked for the staffs help they took their time and made us wait while we watched other people bowl, and when we wanted to fix our time so we can play for an hour they only gave us four extra minutes! So I asked for a refund and they only offered a partial refund because we "played a game". Which was untrue. Not wanted to stay their another minute I walked out very upset. I wouldn't recommend coming to this establishment unless you want to have...
