HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!! ZERO REVIEW GIVEN!! This place when my husband and I went to Monterey May 12th 2022 I was told this place was fair- decent food. Walking into the place it looks like a shack/ dungeon from year 1915…the seats in the booth sits so far down I felt like I was in first grade! It was a horrible experience to say the least!! Owl 🦉 pictures everywhere !!! Smh Server Maggie was AWFUL! She had an attitude, the booth Seat was nasty I asked her to wipe it off … she had an attitude for that. I asked her for warm syrup- she gave me a LOOK as if looks would kill !! That if it was bothering her or something. I gave her one right back !! First giving me ice cold syrup she did not want to serve us with a smile ….they only have pork sausage… nothing more …. so my husband asked for a hamburger patty … He said the hamburger patty was SO BADD his belt tasted better !!!!! Cow was hard as a brick 🧱 ! I ordered Potatoes eggs and pancakes smh…pancakes so tough it’s swelled up - and all of the syrup was soaked in like a sponge. if this is grandma‘s cooking in grandma‘s kitchen… she must have died a long long long time ago, in the kitchen!!!! Because the food was not good! It was horrible and the service was pathetic !!!! You’re better off going to McDonald’s!!!! My God when the bill came …… two short stacks two orders of nasty red country potatoes, 3 eggs over easy, One order of scrambled eggs , two nasty orange juices and one coffee almost $65 …..😮 I was defibrillated!!!! I did not give that lady Maggy no tip she deserves nothing but monopoly money !!!! & I put on the receipt bad service- NO TIP!

Grandma's Kitchen, Monterey We had no plans to visit here, but I'm really glad we stopped. There was a packed house however we were seated quickly. Truly they have a good turn over. This had the feel of a down home dive style restaurant. Personally most of the best restaurants are these in my opinion. We have reviewed 5 restaurants and 2 hotels since arriving in Monterey and each "upscale" restaurant had water that tasted like a swimming pool or just bad piping. Grandma's Kitchen had the best water! It didn't have the standard Monterey chlorine/pipe taste. Annie was our waitress. Lovely person! Very friendly and accommodating, yet not in your face talking forever. All staff that were there were fast moving like a well oiled machine. Customers were well taken care of. My husband's coffee was always hot. They don't offer wifi but their location sits on an excellent free xfinity connection. - Spanish Omlet Was excellent! Great flavor, packed with chilies and avocado, eggs seasoned wonderfully. If you enjoy the Spanish flare of Ortega chilies this is for you. - Ham Steak & Eggs Ham was not overcooked, juicy and seasoned well, eggs cooked to request, home potatoes were very well cooked, tender, not tiny bits but decent bite sized and seasoned well. - SOS biscuits with the creamed gravy (gravy with a creamed ground beef) brought me back to my childhood! If you have country roots, you'll know what I mean, if not, you have to try. - Total cost $35 .... wow that's a steal! Great place. We will be visiting again soon.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Grandma's Kitchen recently, and let me just say—it was an experience like no other. We were fortunate enough to have Grandma herself serve us, and her warmth and friendliness made our visit so special. The food? Simply incredible! Everything was made with the freshest, high-quality ingredients, and it came out fast. One of the things I loved most was their all-day breakfast—definitely a huge plus in my book! The menu is massive, offering a wide variety of options for all tastes. A standout for me was their homemade ground beef, which was flavorful and juicy, whether in breakfast dishes or in their must-try burgers. I didn’t get a chance to try the patty melt, but based on everything else, I bet it’s fantastic too. They even have a great selection of alcohol if you're in the mood for a drink. The love and care that the owners put into both the food and the service are evident in every bite. It’s hands down one of the best diners I’ve ever been to, and I can’t wait to go back and explore more of their delicious menu. If you're looking for a place that makes you feel at home while serving top-notch food, you won’t be disappointed at Grandma’s Kitchen!
