I consider myself a beginner guitar player with 1 month of fidgeting with my Yamaha. I came to George's to get more guitar picks. I unexpectedly had an excellent experience trying out different guitars and buying one in the end. I actually didn't have the intention of getting a guitar because I knew so little about them as a beginner but I occasionally browsed online prior to my visit. Brendan was very knowledgable about the different guitars and which ones would work best for me based on my budget and preferences. I was looking for a guitar that had a smaller body to use so that I wouldn't feel uncomfortable because I am quite small. But I still wanted it to be full length so I could learn how to play with the standard amount of frets. Brendan showed me different guitars and let me jam out by myself in the guitar room which was very nice. Though they have a lot of expertise, they were very open and made me feel comfortable asking many different questions as a beginner. There is no judgment here at this store and no pressure. Just pure love for music and a desire to help share the knowledge! Btw: the guitar I ended up getting was the Taylor Academy 12 for $550. I was first shown an Ibanez for $300 because my budget was $500 and under. Brendan then told me there was a Taylor guitar for $550 that also matched by preferences and asked me permission to show it to me first. I thought that was so considerate of them. I am glad I took a look at it because it sounds great (I compared it to my Yamaha guitar and the Ibanez). It will last me my entire guitar career (according to my friend Joey who is obsessed with guitars and I would consider an expert. He loves my guitar and spent a good amount of time gushing over it and playing it even though he has much more expensive Taylors). It's been about a week since I got it and I am really happy with how it sounds when I play. I've also lengthened my practice time since I got it because of how much I love it. I might decide to buy another guitar in the future but it feels good knowing that the one I got already has such great quality. Thanks to the team at George's Music for their excellent service and expertise!

The staff at George's Music in North Wales is absolutely phenomenal. I took my daughter there because of a Nita Strauss event in the store. I had planned on buying her Nita's signature guitar. Sean let me know that they would have one played by Nita available if I wanted it. Obviously, I did. I let him know I was going to tell my daughter that I was only able to get her a used guitar (technically not a lie) and he told me that he'd make sure Nita knew about it. The staff went above and beyond in keeping the secret and making the presentation something that my daughter will remember for the rest of her life. She was getting a guitar but the folks at George's, Ibanez and Nita Strauss made sure she got a memory and a story to go along with it. That's the kind of thing that keeps people inspired when times are tough. Look, we have guitar shops in Pittsburgh, but the way I was treated, I can't imaging going anywhere else for my next Ibanez.

It was an absolutely wonderful experience shopping for a guitar at George’s Music North Wales. I’m a beginner guitar player and I was looking to buy my first “serious” acoustic guitar. Dwight and Austin were so kind and patient showing me around the acoustic room and being cognizant of my wants of a guitar with a shorter scale length and size while being in my budget. I had a blast playing the Taylor GS Mini and the Martin 000-Jr-10E cutout version! I asked Dwight that I wanted to try the Martin dreadnought junior 10E as well before taking a final decision and Dwight went above and beyond to order the DJr-10E for me from the Spring City store. I went in the next day, played it both plugged and unplugged, fell in love with the sound and bought the latter! Thanks a ton, folks, and I will be coming back here for all my musical needs. P.S.: Brownie points for the discussions regarding Opeth and Pat Metheny!

Yea they sell a lot of good material and they are really nice enough to help refer you to different businesses when they dont have what you may want or need. The only thing stopping me from giving them 5 stars is that they are among the many guitar stores ive been to that sell too many floating tremolo/floyd rose replica guitars with that system. This is not bad enough to stop me from going here and if you are new they will obviously let you know that you are buying a guitar with this system on it so thats not a bad thing by itself. What they wont tell you however is to consider a guitar repair guy when buying one of these guitars because changing strings and fixing spring tension after downtuning (even though floyd roses are specifically not as good or designed for down or drop tuning I understand but certain people may only be able to afford one guitar so thats why they may do it anyways) will need the attention of some kind of person who understands these kinds of repairs even though its not even a really super broken repair like some other things that could happen to a guitar. They are allowed so sell whatever guitars they want and I am not saying this to make them stop selling floyd rose guitars but the feedback I would recommend giving you guys reading this is to just communicate to customers who buy these guitars and to recommend them or refer them to a guitar repair shop if they are interesting in knowing after asking them about it the first time or if they already know and arent interested. And if they still arent sold on handing their guitar to a repair guy for these kinds of problems you can also let them know that most simpler floyd rose repairs are almost always done within the budget of 100$ or less and I say that from my experience and the repair guys I went to but that should be accurate enough that most guitar repair folks should charge around the same price. But yea only ask them once if they would like to know a repair shop when they buy these guitars just because a polite simple yes or no question could go an even longer way in having them wanting to come back to your store because you have really good customer service and you always look out on what you already can serve at your store or what you can refer customers to outside your store. I hope I have helped you guys with my review you guys already do a lot of good things whenever I come in this is just my small suggestion of how I think you could do even better among all of the other things I already like about you guys....

The North Wales George's Music is hands down the best music gear shopping experience I've ever had. The Team here are both incredibly knowledgeable and absolutely delightful! I live about an hour away from this store but I make frequent trips out here for all my gear because I know I'm spending my money at a place that really deserves every dollar. I am always greeted by a smile and a "How ya doin'?'" from everyone working there when I walk through those doors. Mike is usually my go-to when I'm there. I've been getting back into drumming during the pandemic (even bought my Roland V-Drums here!) and Mike has been a god-send in pointing me in the right direction for the best equipment for my price range. He takes the time to talk to me and understands what I need and gives me plenty of affordable and relevant options, such as solid Tama cymbal stands, a great Evans practice pad that really upped my rudiments game, and a ton of advice on new/upcoming gear that really matches my interests. The George's Music team here really looks out for you! On top of the really great shopping experience, their workshops are a blast, too. My wife and I took a trip out there for a ukulele workshop and it was tons of fun! There's a lot of really great folks working here and I'm very grateful for how much attention they give to every customer that comes in the store. I've never seen anyone just sitting around; everyone is always helping someone, tidying up the store, or taking care of day-to-day operations. Really, I can't recommend this place enough. If you want top-class treatment, all you need to do is swing by George's Music in North Wales....
