The Station operates like a commercial enterprise, not a community service. They basically charge a cancelation fee. If you cancel your membership they require notice by first of the month or they will charge you for the next month, just like a for profit gym. It's in the small print on the contract, but not on the web site(entire contract is small print). Why? There's no wait list for membership. My new community center has no such policy and you can cancel anytime. That's because it costs nothing to cancel in the digital age and they provide service to the community. My cell service and insurance companies didn't require notice of cancellation and even gave me a refund. That's because they are regulated by the government to treat the public fairly. How does Moore's city government compare? Private gyms and used car dealers have small print with advantage to them. How does Moore's Station's small print...
Read moreNothing about the recreation center gives me community vibes. The only parks and recreation where you have to bring bills with all adult members names on the them, and birth certificates for your children to add them to passes you pay for - because it's not enough that your tax dollars are paying for this public service. You can't bring snacks for your kids if you go to the pool because they want you to pay for their concessions. As a mother and formally educated school teacher, this one was troubling. So if your kids come to swim for a day and you cannot afford their concessions, you don't get to eat. They also check your bags to make sure there's no snacks in there - your purses aren't excluded. They're not checking for weapons or dangerous objects either, because they're having kids/teens checking them. A place where community can come and enjoy their day - or not. There's nothing welcoming or friendly...
Read moreI would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND renting or doing any event here! Anything that has to deal with these people honestly! I rented a pavilion for my daughters birthday, and I didn’t end up using it because of the weather conditions. On top of having to deal with power outages and storms shortly after. I assumed there wouldn’t be any hassle (to get my money back) since it was out of my hands. So I call, being patient and compliant. And what do I get? The push around! Constantly getting transferred to a managers voice mail! Who, mind you, never called me back! That’s what! I call around the end of October, (WITHIN THE 30 DAY FINE PRINT) and here it is mid November! I just now got ahold of a manager who will HOPEFULLY deal with the problem I’m having! This was all BS, and I will never use/deal with anything that goes through Moore Parks & Recreations again! If it gave me the option to give ZERO...
