Martha'sPark is a GREAT place to take the children to get out some of that incredible energy theyre little tiny bodies seem to just naturally make!!! BUT WAIT... There's a catch as there ALWAYS is.... SOME parents think it's a place they can just let they're children run WILD with NO RULES, OR DISCIPLINE! That's when a usually clean well maintained park Play area, becomes a discusting washing machines nightmare! Example: my last visit, someone's unsupervised child apparently hadn't been properly trained in the do's and dont's of common playing areas and as I sat RIGHT THERE, this child proceeds to pick up some muddy ground cover (they pea sized use recycled rubber tire piece's for the playground area floor) and toss about a bucket full up and at the bottom of they're most popular large yellow winding slide....as MY little girl was coming down!!🙄 So yes as this child's parents were no where to be found, I DID tell this child "NO, that is NOT okay"!😬 Sorry, but REALLY! So I will NO longer be taking my children there during the hours of 5-7pm. These hours it BUSY there and No not ALL parents actually WATCH they're own children! But on the day in the included pictures, it wasn't packed, just a normal amount of supervised children, and we had a BLAST! My children got wet in the splash pad, then played on the playground, then back to the splash pad to coool off again👣. It was pretty cool (no pun intended). So I DO recommend Martha's Park, but PLEASE watch what your children are doing, as there are PLENTY of benches EVERYWHERE CLOSE by each PLAY area, even for the "Not So Involved Parent" to at the VERY LEAST sit and OBSERVE your child's behavior. I'd recommend your first visit there during the hours of 10am-2pm weekdays. They do have bathrooms and a few drinking water fountains. But bring a towel and possibly dry clothes, or like I did let them wear some fast drying nylon shorts and a tank top😉! There is NO snack or soda machines, so...
Read moreFor the price of free admission this park is awesome. Lots of swings for those who prefer that. There is an a naturally high playground the kids love to slide down from and everything looks quality made. The waterworks that you see in the pictures were not turned on during our visit because it was November.
There are several benches for adults to sit and even a covered patio area in case of rain or if you wanted to have food served.
There is fencing all the way around the park so if you sit near the front gate you do not have to worry about your child wandering off.
I saw two water fountains near the playground but I did not test them for functionality.
Again this park is free so you may find the occasional piece of trash. I did not see a trashcan or I would’ve thrown the trash away that I found.
I would definitely bring my kids back to this park because it is beautiful...
Read moreI stopped here for a break, and to walk my pup during a cross-country trip. I was very pleased with the amount of covered picnic areas, and shade trees. There is access on the east and west sides of the park, and there is a good amount of parking space. The Playground equipment was in very good condition, and the water splash area for the children is such a great thing for the kids. The area is very peaceful.
The restrooms were spacious, and decently clean. There is a public water fountain here. I'm very happy that I chose this park for a break on my long journey home, and I recommend anyone passing through stop here as well. As one final note, the town and surrounding area are both...
